Sure the park is small and the fossil beds are picked over but the drive there is beautiful, through the rolling country side and farmland. Picked cia berries which is wild blue berries oh so good.

Very small park but since it is not monitored, it is better that way otherwise too much damage would be done to the fossil bed. Already there are missing benches, displays, etc. Sad to see so much destruction instead of care when visiting these remote...More

If you are interested in viewing fossils, then visit this provincial park, of course without taking anything away.

. . . the hike was short, but the area isn't anything but a straight up look at a rock face and tons of broken shale to walk on by the information boards

We bike to the park from Smithers in about 90 min, which was a great workout on its own. Their is a nice river and signs to explain the history of the site. We even saw a porcupine walking around. the ride back to town...More

Fossil Beds are a great family experience and a nice walk from picnic site. Lovely river runs through it and lots of spots for family pictures. A worthy stop on a family trip!

this provincial park is accessed by gravel road. great spot for a family picnic or wiener roast . great way to spend part of a day looking for fossils in the shale

You can drive about 10 minutes from town and hike through a short trail. You can also have a campfire - I wish I'd known that before I went out so I could have brought supplies, but that's on me for not doing my research....More
