Quite the spectacular natural spectacle visually representing a cresting wave about 200 feet long. We went at mid-tide so were able to get down to the actual galleries, but probably inaccessible at high tide. Very easy to access and only a very short walk from...More

The Malaspina Galleries is a large wind and frost sculpted overhanging of sandstone at the edge of the sea; it felt like I was walking under a frozen wave. At the end of Malaspina Drive there is a small blue sign (typical on Gabriola to...More

The rock formations were a lovely surprise on outing to Gabriola island. Almost missed the most dramatic cliffs but saw a fellow duck around the corner of the path to show us how to find them.

The short walk to the galleries are unremarkable, but the galleries kind of let me down. Yes, its a rock formation that's been shaped into that shape over the decades, but really it wasn't that magnificent as I thought it would be. This is personal...More

We were here for the Snowbirds' flight over Nanaimo Harbour... and Malaspina Point (or Malaspina Spit, as some here call it) provided the best island location for viewing the nine 11 CT-114 Tutors, as they twisted and rolled in perfect formations, over the mainland and...More

Go at sunset first and then go back the next day when the tide is low so you can walk the gallery. SO much to see. The rock formations are incredible. Breathtaking.

It was POURING rain as we peddled off the ferry and headed along Taylor Rd. When we arrived at the point we thought maybe we were in the wrong place. After a minute or two of exploring we found the GORGEOUS sandstone undercut by the...More
