A short trail to a boardwalk through an area where the trees all died from drowning when an industry created a damn to ensure their water supply. A marsh on top of the hill on a beautiful island. Well worth the time to check it...More

There is not a lot to do in Alert Bay. We arrived via cruise ship and had several hours to explore the island. My wife & I like to hike & found this area and surrounding trails to be a nice break from the spoils...More

This place is incredible. We spent an hour sat on the benches dotted along the boardwalk and didn’t see another person. We saw lots of eagles and other wildlife and overall it’s just a really peaceful place to be. If you walk through the woods...More

We hiked through the Ecological Park and, being photographers, were delighted with the views and nature close-ups to be seen.

Don’t step off the boardwalk. Our small dog wanted a drink and before we got to him he nearly sank out of sight. Scary for all of us! Some of the trail in the brush was really overgrown but we enjoyed the challenge!

Easy to navigate and negotiate..unusual to have a swamp area at the top of the island. All the trails are fairly easy to navigate. What goes down however must come up.

The road in to Zeballos is rough but do-able , even in a small rental car ( I checked with my insurance folks to ensure that I would be covered while driving on a non-paved road ) . The rooms at Cedars Inn are comfortable...More

A great hike that can be accessed from many different points on the island. The trails are easy; suitable for most who are comfortable with the occasion root and mild incline. The forests are peaceful and lush and the boardwalk in particular is a great...More

Everything about Alert Bay and Cormorant Island is outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk here and along the island's beaches of rock and driftwood. Cedar Trees everywhere are part of the Namgis culture and art.
