The staff are in role play from 100 years ago, and do it very well. In fact they live it all day long, even eating the food prepared the same way. The buildings are in very god condition and the churches particularly worth inspection. The...More

I hate to give less than a "shining" review for this place - my dearly departed adopted Baba would be disappointed in me. I'd been wanting to visit the Ukrainian Cultural Village for many years, mostly because I thought they'd have cabbage rolls like Emily...More

Very interesting look into Alberta's recent past. Even more interesting if you are of Ukrainian descent. Very knowledgeable and talented staff role-playing actual people that lived in 1890-1920s. There is a simple place to get a lunch there too (really good traditional Ukrainian dishes).

This is a great way to spend a couple of hours on a nice day. There are great paths to walk and explore the village, or you can take a horse-drawn wagon ride.

There is plenty of parking on site. The site is fairly walkable, mostly dirt walkways on the inner "townsite." It was great to see the old buildings with their contents inside. The staff playing the characters of the time (shopkeeper, school teacher, hotel keeper, etc.)...More

Visiting the Ukrainian Village was like a trip down memory lane. From the old school houses to the hardware store and the grain elevator, it brought back so many memories of growing up in rural Alberta through the 60's and early 70's. Without moving too...More

Unfortunately we had to rush because it closed at 5 pm but what we saw was great. In each location was an actor who took on the identity of a settler and described life in "their" time. You could ask all the questions you wanted....More
