Terrific big-little theatre in Winston-Salem

Recently caught a Theatre Alliance performance of Walt Disney's "The Little Mermaid". It was a huge show, so big they had to stage it at the nearby SECCA stage. The cast of about 40 folks ran the gamut; diversity across the board (age, race, physical abilities, etc.). How enchanting and refreshing to find a director who completely understands and adheres... No matter your taste (or lack thereof!) in theatrical offerings, you will find many things to enjoy at Theatre Alliance. It's a perfect balance to other types of theatre in WInston but it's done just as well and at a much lower cost in a more intimate environment. What I like best about TA is that it's easy. Easy to... After seeing Blood Brothers in London both in 1993 and in 2009, I was so excited to learn that it was being performed in Winston- Salem at the theater alliance. I was not disappointed at all -- the music and stories brought back all the good memories of living in London. There was a live music ensemble on stage which... More

We have been to several different venues in winston-salem for plays and this is by far our favorite venue. Great atmosphere and actors. Most plays are definitely not child appropriate. If you are looking for a place where you are close to the action and ready for some laughs, this is the place to check out. We have been to... More

went to see "Nunsense", what a great play, so funny, an all male play, I must say they were great. The theatre is quite small, and nothing fancy, all the seats are great.....the stage is right on the floor in front............It looks like nothing but the actors are awesome and put on great shows. You must try this, you will... More

Small, intimate theatre setting with highly acclaimed shows put on by talented people = sold out in advance. We've enjoyed some of the best community theatre has to offer at the Theatre Alliance including their creation of Avenue Q which rivaled the performance of same we saw on Broadway.

A very intimate venue. At one time they did their shows at the SECCA center and on occasion will do one there, like Les Miserables`. We have enjoyed their shows for many many seasons. They do a variety during the season. We usually see 1/2 to 3/4ths of the shows they produce each year. We have a "Theater Group" of... More

We have been to several plays since discovering the theater the end of last year. Love the intimate setting, the actors are quality for volunteers and the subject matter can be so interesting and sometimes racy and baudy. Reminds me of off Broadway but at a price that is amazing! Love it!

We ordered our tickets on line for "The Marvelous Wonderettes" and enjoyed the ease of the process. Their website is very user-friendly, and we were able to choose our seats by looking at a seating chart on line. This was our first visit to the Theatre Alliance, and it definitely won't be our last! From the moment we parked our... More

4 contemporary ballet pieces choreographed by Harper. I'm a lover of the classic ballet...but I really enjoyed aquainting myself with a new look at the art.
