The powers that be keep trying to make this wonderful island off limits. The only way to keep it open to the public for FREE is to take care of it! Please, please take everything with you as you leave!

I took a boat over with a friend (only accessible by boat) and was amazed. It was an absolutley beautiful island with very few people on the beach side. Lots of para-sailors. Definitely take a trip out there!

This island is only accessible by boat. It is south of Wrightsville Beach. You can pull a boat up on the west side and walk across to the unspoiled, and unmonitored beach. There are no life guards and no police. It is gorgeous by day...More

We launched our kayaks at Trails End on a beautiful morning and paddled about 25-30 min across the channel and though the marsh. There is a small beach landing where you can pull up and safely leave your boats. A short walk over the dunes,...More

I could hit a tennis ball from my backyard in Willowick and have it land on this island (not really, but I'm pretty darn close). Still, I've lived here for 2 years, and only been once. I just prefer a better place to go to...More

Beautiful morning on Masonboro for our family! We took a watertaxi/feet there and spent a few hours on the beach. It is pristine, beautiful and our family lived it. With young kids, a few hours was plenty. Next time, maybe we'll rent some kayaks to...More

We loved this place! We rented kayaks and spent several hours here during our trip. There are lots of cool seashells and the water is clear. It's a great spot to visit.

As far as I have seen, it is a natural, undeveloped island so walking is the only choice. I have only accessed it by kayak and then walked the beach side.
