Large Antebellum homes, cobble stone roads, many historical markers, many shops selling local artisan items. Great restaurants and just a nice way to spend an afternoon.

I didn't find the tour interesting. Spend your money on the amazing food available right next to this tour's starting point. Visit the battleship in the morning, have lunch in downtown and drive down to the beach. Drop this tour, not sure why this has...More

My family of five - three kids under 10 - really enjoyed this 30min horse and cart ride. Saw lots of lovely houses, heard very interesting facts and it was a nice break from walking. It was nice and shaded on the cart. Would definitely...More

The local horse drawn trolley tour is a great way to wind down after lunch. The horse teams are from a rescue farm, and they are treated very well. The drivers have a good little routine down, pointing out various sights and historical facts, along...More

Even so our visit was short we still managed to see a large part of the historic district. We drove around first to see what we wanted to see most.

Buggy driver was most entertaining. Not sure some of his "information" was on target but entertaining for sure. Ride around the waterfront area is worth the adventure.

We had an enjoyable stroll around the area even although it was oppressively hot and humid. The architecture was amazing, especially, the huge fluted columns cut from one tree. Apparently it would cost US$70 000.00 to replace each column according to one home owner.

Very nice tour through the historic district in a horse-drawn open-sided vehicle. The way the driver related facts, stories and misc trivia was very fun and interesting.

Our carriage driver was a dead ringer for Billy Bob Thornton, accent and all - which was pretty cool. He did a great job and we learned several interesting facts about Historic Wilmington. $12 cash plus tip, and you will want to leave one...

Do you need to book in advance? Is there parking?

We did not book carriage ride or meals in advance, but don't about the summer months. Park at the parking garage. Think there is only one public parking garage in the historic district.

tours are about the $15. there are approx. 10 different routes and unless you tell the driver what tour you were on you may end up on same tour- driver has choice of which route he takes
