Very attractive setting and views, the winery sits abreast a segment of the historical Overmountain trail which was a critical part of winning the revolutionary war in the Carolinas. In addition to the winetasting and food area, you are welcome to bring your own picnic lunch and use the tables provided for that purpose. As with most small vineyards, I... More

I came by this vineyard yesterday with my aunt hoping to do a tasting. We didn't realize that the shorter winter hours had started and they appeared closed. By a happy twist of fate, we ended up meeting the winemaker and having a great conversation with him. Frank Lilly is an awesome guy! The wine is fantastic! He obviously has... More

We stopped @ Overmountain as one of three vineyards on a wine tasting tour. They were preparing for a wedding reception, which gives you an idea of the wonderful views. The staff cleared off a table in the 'back' for us as the shaded tables were taken and we enjoyed our tasting with families that celebrate birthdays and anniversaries yearly.

Excellent wine and beautiful views. The staff was personable. I am not a wine connoisseur by any means but this was a nice stop and we enjoyed sipping wine.

But the glasses are small compared to other vineyards- $15 for a tasting was steeper than others in the area, and with the smaller glasses, didn't leave us with a good taste in our mouths. Figuratively speaking because the wines were good overall.

If you only visit one vineyard in Western NC this would be it! We brought out of town guests to Overmountain for a tasting and they remarked that it was the best small vineyard experience they had. We had all visited vineyards in CA, WA, OR as well as France and Italy yet we're delighted by the friendly ambiance we... More

We decided to go to a winery on our trip to Tryon, NC. We just happen to select Overmountain Vineyards because it was close and looked interesting. The wines they produce are primarily dry wines. My friend and I both prefer dry wines, so it was a perfect choice. We particularly enjoyed the personal attention from the wine tasting staff.... More

Great atmosphere and the wines are wonderful. We made friends with the winery's cat and Great Dane Max. Lived the Sangria as well. Definitely will be back.
