This vacation spot is a true quiet and relaxing area of the North Carolina coastline. Places to eat out, fish markets, fishing boats, ice cream, and small shops to enjoy. Just a fun, nature centered area.

Topsail Island is located ~25 miles north of Wilmington, NC. It has very nice beaches and, as I write this (01/2018) you do not have to pay for parking. There are many entry points along the beach road .. & some have bathrooms, changing facilities...More

We came up to see our kids for Christmas, lots of restaurants, several grocery options near by, and although many places were in off season, some were open. The beach was beautiful.

Went during off season so not very crowded. We heard that even though it is busier in the summer, it's still pretty low key. Stopped at several of the beaches and they were all great. No big high rise condos. Mostly rental houses.

One of our favorite beach towns in the world. Delightful, quiet, low stress. And beautiful with the sound as well as beach to enjoy. We go. Ack again and again. Also very welcoming to dogs.

I drive, I didnt fly. But if you fly, you would want to go into Wilmington then you can rent a car and drive. You could also go into OAJ, which is Onslow County, (Jacksonville/New River) where a lot of the military bases are.
