Well so much info about this place good and bad. Here is my two cents worth. It is a nice community and has great amenities. I do think it is ridiculous that they ticket you for going 21 in a 20 zone. As a law enforcement officer how can the calibrate anything radar to that level of accuracy! So I... More

My wife and I went to visit some friends in Southport, N.C. at the St. James Plantation. This is a gated community, so access to this restaurant is difficult, unless you arrive by boat. I enjoyed fried oysters, which were some of the best I've ever eaten. The fries were homemade and delicious. To my surprise, on tap, was Yuengling... More

I have been living in St James for almost 6 years. The North Carolina weather is FANTASTIC, I came from New York. The community is about half way populated, with restaurants, golf courses, tennis courts, a marina , a beach house, and more. When you get here, what is see is what you will get. They do not have plans to... More

We stayed at the Shipwatch Condos close to the marina. This place has everything for an active family. Marina with dry storage, 81 holes of golf. My husband played The Reserve a Nicholas course. We ate at several of their restaurants. They are all good. We really loved the Players Club restaurant- outstanding lamb shank meal! Indoor pool and huge... More

Beautifully maintained grounds, restaurants and facilities! Good values on homes. Nice flat roads good for bike riding. Property owners involved and interested to keep things proper. Not for everyone, but if you are considering moving here, certainly best to visit in different seasons and talk with many people who live in Saint James. Some even rent a place for a... More

This was such a beautiful place. The homes here and the grounds are breath taking from the golf courses to the club houses St. James has it all. Eat out on the deck by the Marina at Tommy Thomson's Grill or stop down at the private beach. I love it here.

This is a fabulous area with lots to do if you're a boater and/or golfer! Hoke Flynt was an exceptional tour guide into the area & we were so impressed with his knowledge and expertise -- it definitely is one of our top choices to retire -- it is second to none in their amenity package. You should check it... More

Very nice with great amenities, 5 pools, a beach access club, several restaurants. Felt the home prices were reasonable for the size and quality of the homes.

I LIVE HERE AND THE OPPRESSIVE POA IS OUT OF CONTROL. The POA is hell bent on rule making and controlling individuals. If you want to plant a tomato plant in your backyard you need to get approval from the ACC at a cost of $150.They have a squad of volunteers spying to turn anyone in who doesn't play by... More

A great place for golf, incredibly quiet and relaxing I've come to St James twice in two years, invited by friends who retired there... and I must say it's good to have the chance of being 'in the bubble' ! Very nice golf courses, very well maintained, never crowded: my preference goes to the Reserve and its challenging holes, but... More
