The father, M.L.Owens, was an original and his children share his talent for molding clay. Red glaze is a signature for this pottery and it is hand thrown. Highly recommend and M.L.'s son, Vernon, has Jugtown Pottery.

My daughter and I stopped in here the other day as a side trip to the Asheboro Zoo. We've been here before, but I didn't write about it. Wonderful shop, the red glaze pottery is great ! This shop will always be on are stop. Mr Owens was very helpful telling us about the history of his family of potters

We loved this stop! The owner was friendly and talkative about the history of the pottery and the types of work. There was a great variety of affordable pieces for the home. His collection of antique bicycles added charm to the place. He even allowed us to walk back through the work area. There was no one working on a... More

Our church group stopped by 7 pottery places today, and this was the best one we went to. First of all, we were greeted as soon as we stepped out of our bus. The ladies in our group spent the most money at this place. They had a 50 cent coke machine and places to sit on the front porch... More
