Pay your $2 in the self-pay box and walk the slightly uphill, paved walkway to the overlook of the falls. From the overlook is a very nice view of the falls. A wooden walkway (stairs) leads down 1/4 of a mile for those who want...More

We found that the Fall on the highway itself wasn't very well marked and ended up going past it and ending up in South Carolina. Obviously we had gone to far. In coming back we stopped at a large pull off area (dirt) and I...More

Whitewater is a great fall to visit because it is well marked, easy to find, has adequate parking. The trail to the falls is about 1/3 mike and paved-handicap accessible. Highest water fall in the eastern US. Beautiful!

The waterfall was extremely beautiful and easy to get to on a paved path. Even if you aren't up to walking the steps to the look-out area, there is a great spot for viewing. Recent rainfalls had the falls gushing, and even a local exclaimed...More

My sisters, cousin and I, all "mature" travelers, enjoyed a very doable 1/2 mile hike from the parking area to the overlook of the falls. There is a steep but safe stairway down to the foot of the falls. The overlook intersects with a longer...More

Please do not skip paying the menial $2 honor system fee. The park is well maintained so help support this and pay the dues. The walk to a nice viewing area is easy and paved. You can then choose to go down the stairs for...More

The drive to the falls is not too bad. We went to Dry Falls first, then Whitewater and then to Sliding Rock Falls. The Whitewater falls have 150 plus stairs to get closer but you can still see them from the observation level. Even when...More

This was by far the largest waterfall we saw while on our vacation. There is a $2 charge for parking. The parking area is large, with picnic tables and restroom facilities. It's a fairly short walk up the trail to the top where you can...More

This was a great quick visit! It was about 2 miles from our cabin, so we made a quick stop to check out the falls. We went early in the morning, so there was no crowd. We spent about 20 minutes total there. We walked...More

USDA Forest Service still lists Whitewater Falls as closed. Is it open or did you walk around the barricade to an area not normally open to the public?
