Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The York Motor Museum is well worth a visit. There is a small charge but the displays inside are wonderful, and it is well worth the cost of entry.. It is great that this history is being retained and in such amazing condition. I am not into cars or museums much but I found this fascinating.

The museum is described as a place where 'motoring history comes to life' but includes a fascination collection of cars, motor-bikes, bicycles, carriages and more. W.A's oldest car, an 1898 Benz is displayed, also a Maybach 111 which raced on Phillip Island in 1994. Todays streamlined models may be more efficient and environmentally friendly but there is a certain beauty and opulence in these early models that is difficult to surpass. Wonderful to be able to view an actual vehicle and not have to visualise from a photo.

I'm not a motor enthusiast but this collection of vintage and unique vehicles was amazing. From tiny caravans to motorbikes, fire engines and rare collectable cars, this museum has a bit of everything. Highly recommend a visit.

A nice way to spend an hour in York. The man at the front desk was friendly and the museum has a great collection of vehicles. Nice to read some historical information about the people who once owned the cars. Well priced.

The York Motor Museum is located on the main street of York, Western, Australia. There were two rooms full af antique and some newer cars, motorcycles and race cars. It was a very good and interesting collection. The lady at the front desk was very nice and we talked to her for quite awhile about our travels in Australia and her travels in the USA.

We visited the Motor Museum last year and what a worthwhile visit. So much history here. I think we wondered around for over 2 hours just reading about the vehicles here. Motor enthusiasts, you must make this a number one on your list.

What a brilliant place, we just loved it and I’m not even that interested in cars. There are wonderful personal stories attached to many of the cars with photographs of the previous owners and a bite sized biography of their lives. It’s amazing a little town like York could have such a comprehensive collection of very rare and valuable cars. The volunteer lady running the place yesterday (Saturday) was fantastically helpful and friendly. The outside looks very uninspiring and totally belies the quality of what is inside. In these terrible times with fewer tourists visiting I can’t urge locals in Perth and Fremantle enough to make the drive out to York for a very pleasant day out. Lots of interesting little shops and plenty of bars and restaurants to eat in.

My husband loved this place, and I have to admit to enjoying at as well. What were the highlights? Perhaps Crocodile Dundee’s car? The impressive collection of James Bond match box cars? The various examples of Australian motor history… it was all interesting and fun.

Always worth a stop even if you’re not a petrol head. Definitely a space that is the pride and joy of the town.
The only thing our teenagers would have liked is if least one of the cars or motorbikes had a photo opportunity as they would have liked to have sat in some vintage wheels.
