Stayed two nights in Wagin and this Pub is the only one open so we went both nights for a meal. First night was a Saturday and we were served and ate within an hour and food was great and service good. Sunday night we waited over an hour for a meal to arrive and service was average but food was good once we finally got it. Lamb shanks were very good as was the Korean Curry .Wine available at front bar and prices were good. Big dining room but a bit stark and service hit and miss depending on the day. Food was very good and prices reasonable.

This is a charming and comfortable hotel with still a few rough edges since it is in renovation process.
We stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and renovated bedroom large with high ceilings and lounge area only a few steps down hallway. Dinner in elegant dining-room was nice, excellent value, as
Was breakfast in the surprisingly modern Cafe.
It's so good to see these lovely old hotel buildings being restored and this one is so charming and excellent value.

Great Service on a busy night. I had the Chicken Parmigiana with chips and salad not bad for $26. Hubby had the steak sandwich $26 - could have done with a bit more salad in the roll other than that it was tasty. The beer was cold $5 a middy - the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was busy as was the Restaurant as the Wagin Woolaramara was on. We sat in the beer garden out the back. It was definitely a garden with grass and a chook pen. Nice place to sit. Thirsty Camel bottle shop - drive thru attached to side of Palace if your looking for takeaway drinks.

Visited Wagin for a family wedding. Friday night Dinner at the Palace Hotel. The bar and dining room were packed. Credit to all the staff that they where able to produce top quality meals in pretty good time. Our meals, rib steak, parmy and meatballs where all top notch. Highly recommended.

Stayed for 1 night and had a great meal downstairs in the restaurant. Rooms are very basic but comfy and we were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast set up in the common room. There was a selection of cereals, bread for toast, condiments, tea, coffee, orange juice and fruit salad pods in the fridge. Lovely touch that even some expensive hotel do not offer. Love staying at old hotels with history. Staff were lovely too.

Do not miss having a meal at the Palace Hotel, so different from other places, we liked the Asian influence, the chef must work really hard. Had a meal here on the way to Albany so had to callback from Esperance on the way back just to have a meal!
The staff both times were really friendly and the service is amazing.
Hopefully get back some time but a long way for a meal.

Stayed in town at an airbnb home for 1 night en route to Perth. There's not much choice when it comes to evening meals and the Palace was recommend as the best option of the very few places open. We first went into the bar, had a drink and noticed it was Happy Hour (5-6pm daily plus 12-1 Sundays) - enquiried as to what that entailed and the cheerful bar staff were unable to say for certain - anyway, the drinks (beer) were cheaper than standard rate so can't complain! She did say wine wasn't included in the deal. We decided to eat in the dining room as opposed to the noisy bar and was told it opened at 6pm (yet the A Board outside states 6.30?). The room is a basic setup but service was prompt, our meals well prepared/presented and surprisingly good (Cobb Salad/Snapper). It was a Friday evening and the room started to fill up with mainly locals. Overall, the food was excellent in my opinion but this is not a fine dining experience (nor does it pretend to be) and you'll struggle to find any better in Wagin.

A country pub with wholesome pub food, cold beer and Aussie hospitality.
Plenty of room in the restaurant for the family lunch.
We ordered steak and sea food dishes. All the food was very tasty and well cooked.
Good attentive service and we didn't have to wait too long for our meal.

After lunch we had drinks and photos in the rear court yard. Very relaxing.

Been here a couple of times now and will be back when next time in town.
