Very helpful staff

The local lady on duty was very helpful with what we wanted, pointing out a few things to do that we hadn't considered. A vast array of information, not only for Norseman, but for other parts of WA.

Came here and got our National Parks Pass and information on all areas of our WA trip. Clean toilet facilities and you can even get water for a donation. Helpful, informative and pleasant staff to deal with.

Rude Lady
Sep. 2019 • Couples
We called in here on our way to Kalgoorlie to get a pamphlet on Kalgoorlie & the road from there to Perth.
The lady just wasn’t interested in us & walked away to serve a local for a bus ticket. The bus wasn’t waiting. There was another staff out the side room but they were busy with family.
A dreadful place to stop.

Hi Mortein I am sorry to read about your experience, believe me, this is most uncommon. In fact, visitors usually give us outstanding reviews. As the Manager (and the staff member in the other room) all I can say is please accept our sincere apology. I do wish you had brought this to my attention on the day and we had the opportunity to respond before we read about your experience online. I will consult with staff and ensure your feedback is understood. We are sometimes very, very busy with enquiries and staff are "stretched' with the volume of visitors. I do hope this was a misunderstanding. Once again, apologies. I hope your forward journey was enjoyable. Kind regards Leanne Jamieson Manager Norseman Visitor Centre tourism@norseman.info 08 9039 1071

Very helpful and worth the visit

We were passing through Norseman and decided to stop by the Visitor Centre where we met a delightful staff member who was extremely helpful! Pity their museum hours are being restricted! Never knew that the town got its name from a gold miner from the Shetlands who was known as a Norse Man! Who knew Norseman had scandinavian links!

Thanks for the review BabyboomerWA. We assist a large number of visitors with their travel plans and information. Unfortunately we are a small regional town of 600 residents who rely on volunteers to open our Museum. Maybe we should ask Grey Nomads to stay longer and help with volunteer positions....... there's food for thought. Safe travels. :)

The staff here know their stuff! They were helpful and offered maps & general information. We asked for a map of the Nullarbor that shows all the details as the one we had used on previous crossings was getting a bit ragged - no problems they said, have two

Thanks for the review. We love helping people. We hope that map saved you from being lost going across the Nullarbor, LOL It's a great map, that makes the journey that bit more interesting, highlighting things to see, showing facilities and distances. Hope you saw some whales across the Bight.

The staff at the Norseman VC are great ambassadors for the town and will be pleased to read this positive review. Our small regional town appreciates every dollar spent by Visitors. It provides jobs and supports our economy. Thanks for taking the time to write a review, it may encourage more people to stop by and try that great coffee. :)

Great community spirit as we got into Norseman later then planned and the Visitor Centre was closed but I saw a light, the wife knocked on the door and the lovely attendant/volunteer not only answered our query re Wave Rock but talked for 10 minutes & supplied a great bunch of pamphlets ! What great service from a great worker, Thanks Again !!

Wealth of information!
May 2019 • Family
So much great information with smiles all round. Great workmanship from local artists and even biscuits in the shape of Norseman the horse. You can fill your water tanks, rest in the park or wander down the street for a bite to eat. Some great maps as well. You really must stop in and have a look around. Well worth your time.

Thanks for your lovely review. Welcome park surrounding the Visitor Centre has some beautiful trees and easy parking for caravans and vehicles. I'm guessing you ate at the Full Moon Thai Cafe or maybe tried the homemade pies and pasties at the corner icecream parlor? Meals at the pub (from 6pm) are also excellent.... or you can always utilise our free BBQs. Please drop in again and say hello.

Great position. Great staff. Great advice. Well stocked array of free catalogues and brochures. Interesting souvenirs for sale too. Be sure to take the 25km tourist drive - unmade road but 16 interesting sites and all well sign posted.

Thanks so much for your kind words. We really appreciate feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed our town and the Old Coach Road - Heritage Trail. How good is that old cricket pitch where the early gold rush pioneers played cricket? We are the gateway to WA and are always happy to help visitors with information and holiday planning. Safe journey. :)

Courteous and friendly

When we arrived in Norseman on the 12/2/2019 our first stop was the Visitor Information Centre. We were impressed by the courteous, friendly and helpful staff member who was on duty. As well as assisting us to gather maps and brochures for our road trip through the south west of Western Australia she was also able to give us advice regarding local accommodation, eateries and tourist highlights.
