    Must-do day trip
The views were truly amazing! Took so.many pictures and friends think we photo-shopped them! The colours are spectacular. Lots of easy short hikes, some require climbing steps (just take lots of rest breaks if needed). We had unexpected seasonal overcast cool weather but the moody skies made photographs mire interesting.

    Excellent short coastal drive
A circuit drive to the west of town, it takes in a number of excellent spots along the coastline with good scenery. Short walks can be taken from Rotary Lookout, one of the first points of interest along the drive. There are plenty of spots allowing access to the beaches, a number of lookouts providing stunning coastal scenery. Return is via Pink Lake back to town. A good half-day activity.

Drive one way, ride the other
A spectacular drive with beautiful beaches and a not at all Pink lake but a great view and explanation as to why it once was pink and why it is now not pink. We then hired bikes from Outdoor store Down to Earth and cycled anticlockwise. One good hill and a couple of small ones I walked up some of the way. The views are brilliant and because you are on a bike you get to enjoy them more. At Twilight Bay you cross to travel inland to Pink Lake then ride back to Esperance. If you do this on a Friday or Saturday morning you will pass Bakerylocal. You can’t miss it as it’s packed. Great for coffee, cakes, lunch

Enjoyed the drive around all the beautiful beaches. Stopped several times for viewing & well worth it. Pink Lakr is currently no longer, its just a normal lake due to too much fresh water & man building the new highway cutting off the required salt flow.

We had a great time on this drive. Very scenic beaches, pink (not a pink) lake and it had a bit of history of the first Australian wind powered site. Just a note that Lucky Bay Brewery has recently moved and is not just before the Pink Lake but actually on the drive to Cape Le Grand.

One of the ‘must do' activities if visiting Esperance is to take a drive out along the ~40km Great Ocean Drive. It starts in the town, passes the Rotary lookout (worth a stop) and proceeds past a number of gorgeous beaches with ample opportunity to stop and explore. It sort of ends at Pink Lake before you drive back into town. The first half is probably the most suited to tourists.

We stopped at each and every beach. White sand, turquoise water. And one beach was basically rock/reef which was great to explore. Esperance has arguably the best beaches in Australia so well worth visiting.

Pink Lake is a bit hit and miss as far as colour. It wasn't pink when we visited because it wasn't quite the right time of year. A highlight, though, when we parked at one of the viewing car parks were the two magpies who provided a valet service to the car by picking off and eating grasshoppers etc that had been caught up near the front number plate during our long drive through the countryside the day before.

Don't miss the drive and make sure to visit the beaches.

An easy drive and extremely spectacular scenery. Beaches are magnificent although unpatrolled. You can easily spend many hours enjoying the coastline. The only disappointment is that the Pink Lake is now a very pale, milky blue

We rode our electric scooters on the shared bike path from town down to Twilight Bay, return a 16 kilometre trip. It was early in the morning and there was no wind and the ocean was just breathtaking. Around every corner was another bay or cove with white sand and crystal clear waters. It was just beautiful and for me one of the unexpected highlights of the trip. Some of the nicest beach vistas I’ve seen.

We did the Great Ocean Drive and thoroughly enjoyed it.We thought it may take us an hour or two to do it but we ended spending 4 hours so you can go as fast or slow as you like.It starts at the park in town and goes to the Lookout which we enjoyed and do the trail walk over the rocks,Easy and not a long distance.Great views. We didnt do the glass factories or Breweries as we were here to do the nature bit.Awesome beaches with access from the road and lookouts in between.Free to do except for the use of your own car.Well sign posted,Highly recommended although the Pink Lake could be left off the itinerary as its just a lake now

Western Australia is so lucky to have magnificent beaches and views, this place is to die for. It was a shame that we had come this time of the year, where the weather chopped and changed within a blink of an eye. We were freezing. Esperence for its beaches is worth the long trip.

This was an excellent drive - not very long, but also delivering exactly what it promises, which is great views of the ocean. Unlike Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, the one in Esperance, though very much shorter, is a true coastal drive and is not yet tree’d out. The coast here is picturesque and we were lucky to get a good, clear, bright day. Lovely!

We started at the beginning of the tour map and called into every lookout, beach and observatory on the way. We have just travelled three quarters of our country and I have to say that these are some of the best views we have been priviledged to see. Make sure you call into every point because even if it doesn't immediately look much when you get closer you may be surprised.
