Lovely peaceful walk beside the river crossing over bridges with some lovely properties backing onto it. Plenty of grassy areas to stop, sit and reflect or take a picnic.

We began our walk at (appropriately) Walker's Lane, on the south side of the Great Alpine Road, going north along the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. On the south side of the Ovens River we began the Canyon Walk. It is quite an easy walk,...More

We parked the car in Riverside Ave carpark and began the walk. The Ovens River is just so picturesque, especially in Autumn with the leaves changing colour. There are two swinging bridges on the walk, and plenty of information boards along the way. There are...More

Amazing to walk over all the water races and realise they'd been dug by hand so long ago. A great opportunity to reflect on how much easier life is these days!

Great well defined path with bridges to cross the river to enable both sides enjoyed. Watch out for soft edges on the riverbanks if you leave the path for a photo opportunity of the river.

Worth doing if you've a day or two in Bright, there are a range of walks so you can make them as long or as short as you like. Real nice in Autumn/Winter

This is a lovely walk along both sides of the Ovens River. When we did it, it had rained the day before and yes it was a little muddy but still most enjoyable. The river was really flowing at the time
