About
Unearth the unexpected... Nestled in the foothills of the eastern Barossa ranges, Rusden is a family owned and operated producer, specialising in handcrafted wines sourced from the vineyards surrounding the Cellar Door. The Rusden name is synonymous with quality and is unique in the way it operates. We are a single vineyard estate in the Vine Vale sub-region of the Barossa. Rusden’s philosophy incorporates the old Independent Vignerons banner of “Traditional Winemakers” where respect for terroir is paramount. We tend and harvest our own vineyards to ensure that traditional viticultural practises are kept alive. We see ourselves very much as custodians of the land, and seek to minimise our environmental “footprint” in everything we do. The Rusden brand is comprised of ten wines; each made using traditional methods, producing small batches of the highest quality wine, indicative of the Vine Vale terroir. Our aim is to make wines that refine the power of Barossa fruit, yet highlight the floral aromatics and spice characters so evident in wines made from grapes grown in Vine Vale’s sandy soil. Join us at our Cellar Door, share in our unique story and “unearth the unexpected”....

Arrived to a nice welcome from Amy & Winnie. A quick walk amongst the crushings & a viewing of the outdoor initial fermentation process, some history & commentary of the winery by Amy was a pleasant surprise. Inside we enjoyed many of the tastings. Kate's service was excellent as was the self serve lunch board. We left with 6 bottles of beautiful Rusden wines to share with family & friends at home.

An incredible cellar door experience
Jan. 2021 • Couples
My wife and I visited the Rusden cellar door on Sunday and had one of the most memorable experiences of our Barossa trip. The wines are consistently of the highest quality and there is also an option to create your own small platter with some of the local produce they stock. Our host Mali was wonderful and went out of her way to provide us with an insight into each wine.

This will be at the top of our list when we return to the Barossa.

Home of the Black Guts Shiraz

Big Bold Barossa Reds and finally when you work your way up to the Black Guts Shiraz, you know why the Barossa is world famous, and Wineries like Rusden are looking after our Heritage on the world stage, So start you wine tasting experience here, enjoy the knowledge and friendliness of the staff, ask questions enjoy the experience in pleasant surroundings, buy a few wines you wont be dissapointed with the quality of the wine. They do sell some local produce if you want to sit on the lawn for a Picnic, If they ever serve platters i would make an afternoon of it ( With a few Reds of course).

Fun, fantastic Winery
Mar. 2020
We stopped by Rusden for some wine tasting. And we are glad we did. The service was great, and it was a very fun wine tasting. The two ladies behind the counter made it a very fun experience. IT was just my family and I, plus two other people there. So it felt more personal and friendly in a way. It was a cozy place, compared to many of the bigger wineries. A must visit when in Barossa :)

Thank you for the great review! We're so pleased to hear you had a good experience here, the fire helps to keep it nice and cozy away from the rain. We hope to see you next time you're in the Barossa. Cheers!

Great Winery
Mar. 2020
We visited Rusden Winery with friends from Queensland. The six of us were so impressed with Lisa the girl organizing the tastings she was so bubbly and friendly making us feel right at home. The wines were all very good but best of all was the Willy's Port so good I purchased a bottle to share with our friends after dinner that night.

Enjoyed an hour of wine tasting and wine banter with the staff at Rusden. Beautiful wines... we loved the GSM and the Cab Sav and surprisingly the Chenin Blanc. What a fabulous start to the day.

Rusden Wines - the pick of the Barossa
Nov. 2019 • Friends
We had a cellar door with Lisa who was amazing. Knew her wines and the region and was fun to have leading us through their range. That was a great experience but it doesn’t end there - the wines top to bottom on taste and price were head and shoulders above many more expensive and we’ll known cellar doors.

Overall after 13 wineries in a week - Rusden was the pick of them by a country mile.

Thanks for a great afternoon and for shipping all our wine home.

Jason, your gorgeous daughter Lyric & Rick were a delight to meet and look after. I thought it was the ultimate compliment that you returned twice in two days, we must be doing something right! You visited 13 wineries in a week...throughout South Australia, that's a intense amount of wine tasting, I bet you & Rick were ready for a beer by the end of it! We are truly spoilt for choice when it comes to the beautiful collection of wines here at Rusden Wines and throughout the Barossa. I look forward to seeing you next time you visit Rusden Wines!
