Make sure you take the 1130 am tour - very interesting and a good overview of the chateau and the Barossa itself. Fascinating story of the wine industry in Europe and Australia.

We were enthralled by the lovely historical building right from the start. The staff are friendly and patiently elaborated in the wines during the sampling. There’s a toy corner which kept our young kids occupied. There isn’t any sitting area within the cellar door but...More

Beautiful Chateau, lovely grounds and very friendly staff. We didn't go for wine tasting as we were driving but discussed what kind of wine we liked with our helpful host who was very welcoming. We opted for a bottle of Riesling which was excellent. Enjoyed...More

Go for the views and history, stay for the wine. A nice little cricket pitch also! The friendly staff managed to squeeze us in for a tasting when we failed to realise we should have booked ahead.

The chateau tour is an engaging combination of history, architecture and, of course, winemaking. Andrew was an animated and entertaining storyteller. The wines were lovely and we will enjoy remembering the experience when we crack them open back home.

The wines are pretty good, but the building is even better. Worth a trip for sure. Was surprised to find out one cannot buy their wines outside the cellar door, no external distributors.More

Dear Leslie, Thanks for visiting. You will find Chateau Tanunda wines throughout a range of outlets, in fact all around the world. However, typically the range we have available at cellar door are limited release wines with smaller quantities that you wont find elsewhere. We...More

Walking distance from Tanunda, the Chateau of the same name has been part of the Australian lexicon for over 120 years. Wines are consistently good and affordable, but I return here each visit to soak in the grandeur, even the apparent excessive affluence of a...More

It was my first cellar door on my first trip to the Barossa and it *did not* disappoint. A stunning building, with fantastic wine, but it was the great service and extensive knowledge that blew me away. I could not recommend a visit to Chateau...More

I didn't go there then, but most of the wineries in that area were open on Good Friday.
