Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went for a walk around town while waiting for meal and the next day after visiting the Barossa Visitor Centre.

Plenty of historic buildings and great shops. Loved the park on corner of Murray and Bilyara that had plaques of high achieving residents

You've gotta love a town where you can sit on a beanbag under a tree and read a book from the library right in the main street. Great cafes restaurants wine bars and shops. Older style main street, easy strolling, interesting shops.

We chose Tanunda to stay at purely because it was in the Barossa Valley and halfway between one spot and another we were travelling to so we had no idea what to expect. When we first drove into Tanunda we were fascinated by the historic buildings and grassy areas so we parked and walked back along the main street and read the history of this quaint little town and had a more thorough look at the buildings. We also visited some of the shops of which there is a very interesting mix and Woellers which is probably one of the best department stores I have ever been in. We only had two nights here so we have earmarked it for a return visit.

A walk up and down the main streets of Tuunda is a must do when in the area.
Plaques along the Main Street are very informative about the history of the area.
The majestic old buildings are also very beautiful.

Our tour stopped to give us some free time in Tanunda, an early German settlement in the Barossa Valley. Interesting local shops and culture that survives modern times.

We always look for the background to places and Tanunda didn't disappoint. A fabulous heritage trail has been established to lead visitors around this historical town. Well worth stopping, walking and taking a coffee to reflect.
