Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is a practical lighthouse but not at all attractive at first glance but better when up close. It was built in 1972 and sits on a very pretty coastline not far from the old Obelisk. Take the coast walk from the Obleisk to the Lighthouse for an interesting walk and take a look at the concrete tower that is 3.5 M wide at its base and 5m wide at the top.

Very unusual design for a lighthouse. Not a historic lighthouse which probably explains it. Built in the 70’s but has a very futuristic angular 60’s look. Still working though according to the information outside. Worth a look primarily because of its unusual appearance and a great ocean viewpoint. Easily accessed by road or on foot via the coastal pathway.

Visited on Saturday 22nd February. This is not your typical lighthouse structure, very modern but does the job it was put there for.

We parked near the lighthouse and walked on the coastal track to the Obelisk.

We found this lighthouse strange as it is not what you usually expect a lighthouse to look like.

Lighthouse is fenced off and we found no information at the lighthouse detailing how it came about.

Having said that the walk along the coast is great, caters for bikes also. Path is smooth gravel, a little steep in places but worth it.

A lovely romantic spot to watch the sun go down, looking West and thinking what is the next spot where you strike land (Carilo in Argentina, skirting the Cape of Good Hope at some distance I discovered)

Having visited a number of traditional lighthouses along the Great Ocean Road this was certainly the most modern.

When I'm travelling I love to visit lighthouses.. they have been an interest of mine since I was a little girl. I had never seen one like this before... quite a structure.. shame it was fenced off with barbed wire!!!

This lighthouse is modern. It is completely white and stands near the ocean. It is automated. It has a tower in the very top.

It was built in in 1972. and is surrounded with barbed wire.

I like the star-shaped form.

Worthwhile to see~
