Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful spot for fishing, walking, swimming. Not far at all from the general store to the jetty. There’s a nice sheltered table/benches right near the start of the jetty. Lots of fishermen on the jetty, one told us he catches fish there regularly.

I was disappointed with the Jetty / if looking for Yorkes go to point Turton which has swimming. We were in Marion bay for 5 nights and didn’t catch a thing whilst there.

It was good to walk in the sun, feel sea breeze ans enjoy the blue sea view. Coastline here not that great but still pleasant.

Marion Bay is the last town prior to travelling into South Australia’s Innes National Park. Like most towns on Yorke Peninsula it has a jetty that was originally built in 1889 and was still used to ship grain and wool until 1969. Nowadays it is used mainly for recreational fishing and sailing.

The wooden piered jetty has a slightly uneven walkway that is 270 metres in length. The water is clear and perfect for spotting that elusive fish, squid or crab! It has lighting which would enable night walks or fishing. I enjoyed a relaxing stroll down the jetty after being in a car for a couple of hours.

The beach either side was seaweed strewn and not conducive to beach strolling. As the town is small, it is a short walk to facilities. Adjacent to the jetty is a covered rotunda for a picnic or just a cuppa! And if wanting a souvenir photo, there is a “Hello from Marion Bay” frame with the background being the bay behind.

A good rest spot prior to venturing into Innes National Park.

Return? Maybe when next venturing into Innes National Park.

Visited on 2nd March. Called in to check out Marion Bay on our way to Innes National Park. We stopped and went for a walk along the jetty to stretch our legs before heading off again.

The Jetty at Marion Bay was great to walk along and look down into the ocean, the water was so clean and clear.

I visited here one night and found it to be a nice clean place where you could walk to the end of the Jetty, hearing the waves lapping and seeing the starry sky. Sunrise was great for taking photos of too.

Situated very close to the Tavern and next to the boat ramp. Has shelters at the end and and stairway down to the water. Ideal for swimming in the summer time but mainly used for fishing. Tourists and locals alike catch plenty of squid here.

We visited here on the way to the Marion Bay Tavern. It is an impressive jetty and it looks like it is well used.

Over two days we caught 4 squid here but loved the scenery and chatting to the people walking past. Could easily spend hours on the jetting watching the boats come in and out. There are obviously many more squid here than we found, owing to the many ink stains on the jetty.
