- Linda P1 contributionGreat ambience! We visited the Kies Family Winery on our winery tour and only wished that we had more time to enjoy the ambience. They offered a beautiful selection of wines and I particularly loved their rose. For those that ordered more the shipping cost was exceptional. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Linda. The Spring Rose is a crowd favourite around here :) Yes, our flat rate shipping is pretty amazing :DWritten 30 January 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 January 2023
- Aussie TravellerQueensland, Australia101 contributionsThanks for a wonderful, family experience - well done!I recently attended the Kies Family Wines venue, as part of a Bums on Seats Barossa Valley Food and Wine Tour. We had pre-arranged lunch at the venue followed by wine tastings. The food portions were a little small but nice, and Monkey Nut Cafe staff were great and fast. The winery staff were also fantastic, being flexible with those who had different palettes etc. Overall the whole place was wonderful, well kept grounds and facilities - all in all a very good experience and one I will repeat on another occasion. Thank you for looking after us.Thanks so much for visiting and taking the time to leave a review. So happy you had a great experience visiting us at Kies :)Written 4 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2023Written 23 March 2023
- Martin P3 contributionsNot impressedWe went on a tour of Barossa/Hahndorf Unfortunately we were very unimpressed with our visit to Kies Winery. We were expecting Wine Tasing in the Barrel Room followed by lunch in the restaurant. On arrival we were left standing around before being herded into the restaurant where they said they ‘should have’ a table for the group and tasting would take place there. I asked a Kies staff member why we were not tasting in the cellar and was told another group had arrived early. I would assume all groups have secured a booking and perhaps the other group should have had to wait their turn or they could have been sent to the restaurant. Also having placed our lunch orders shortly after being seated we waiter almost an hour and a half for food. Very unimpressed. Coming from WA we are lucky enough to have the Swan Valley and amazing wineries of the South West close by and the standard there is miles ahead of our Barossa experience.Hi Martin, thanks for your feedback , so sorry you were left unimpressed. Please feel free to send us an email to nat@kieswines.com.au with more information. Thanks, NatWritten 30 August 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 August 2023
- 639abbieCanberra, Australia1,099 contributionsWarmest Welcome of South AustraliaThe charm of the place and the people welcomes you once you set foot into the door, it was as if we were locals and the conversations just went on like long lost friends. The wines were superb with layers of stories behind their origin coupled with other historical elements explains the staff. The only thing I wished was there was more souvenirs that I could buy to remind me of the place. If ever in the area you should drop by.Oh thanks so much Abbie, that's such a lovely review. We really appreciate you taking the time to write these kind words :)Written 1 November 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 October 2023

AMAZING!!! The wines were out of this world and Mandy was such an amazing hostess who juggled a very busy cellar door so well, always making time to answer our questions and was so charismatic! Will definitely be heading back up to Lyndoch to buy a few bottles again soon!

Lovely place to try wines. Went on a wine tour. The people there erysipelas friendly and knew what they were doing. Talked how and why the wines were called. Lovely small family winery.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Kies winery. We had a huge variety of wines to taste and the fortified wines were so good we bought them to take home. The staff were very friendly and chatty.

Crashed my husbands work conference to spend the week in Barossa. Felt a bit odd going to wineries on my own while he was working, but Kies were awesome. Very friendly staff, great selection of wines and even let the dog come in as it was super hot outside. had a blast!
