The Farm Shed Museum brings together some of the fascinating developments...

The Farm Shed Museum brings together some of the fascinating developments and practices of dry land farming. You will discover; the way of rural life; a magnificent collection of vintage tractors; a delightful display highlighting women's contribution to farming; fascinating stoires about local characters; an impressive display of farming machinery; more than a century of Australia farming history and one of cereal farmings greatest innovations, the stump-jump plough. Visitors will also be delighted by Matta House, a mine manger's residence from the 1860's refurbished in its original location and memories of school days gone by will come alive when you enter the 1950's school house. You will leave with a renewed appreciation of how far farming and society has come.

Asking locals what to do in Kadina was terrible..... target was the answer I got . So I did what I always do and got onto trip adviser. The Kadina information centre and farm shed seemed to be the only going entertainment and I am extremely happy we made the effort . We were the only ones there being out... More

So this place is great if your into the farming scene. A lot of history on old farming equipment, we loved it and so did my son (who loves tractors). Definitely worth the visit

Spent a full morning here just delightful. All exhibits were in amazing condition and so interesting. I particularly liked the women's details of life then.. The Muster house was just delightful. Only disappointment was the lack of lovely food, it was too basic, but it gave us a chance to try yet another venue!

The Farm Shed Museum on the outskirts of Kadina provides an estensive introduction to farming, mining and life on the Yorke Peninsula. Displays are spread over several buildings. Not only are the collections of items extensive, the writeups and recorded discussions are very informative. In particular, the section on the life of women is very well done!

We found this as we were cruising south australia and its a gem, Best value for money attraction in copper triangle,, i recommend that you allow 2 hours to be able to absorb all that the facility has to offer,, the collect of past farming equipment demostrates how tough life must have been in settling australia.

The farm shed museum was a surprisingly big complex. Parts of it is extremely interesting including the old school house. There is a historical jail cell and a long drop toilet (for those who have Never seen one). There is a huge shed of tractors if you are interested in farm machinery. The cost was $10 entry which I thought... More

It's easy to miss this museum area as it is set back off the road but it is well worth visiting. It's half a hectare in size and is an extensive little museum showing pioneer life and the dry farming practices that were used in the past by necessity in the Kadina area. The historic Matta House built in 1863... More

Definitely worth having a look through when visiting the area. Full of interesting and hands on historical items for children to explore and learn more about.
