About
Enjoy an intimate and unique cellar door experience at Ballycroft Vineyard and Cellars. Join Joe Evans for a personal guided wine session available everyday between 11am-4pm. Joe is the owner, winemaker, viticulturist and everything inbetween, carefully tending his grapes from vine to bottle. The Tasting Room which sits at the bottom of Ballycroft's 15 acre sloping vineyard on the outskirts of Greenock was once the cheesery of the same name. While the cheese has now gone the distinctive logo still graces the Small Berry Wine bottles. Ballycroft's wine is made as a reflection of their sustainable, rain fed vineyard, the terroir and the individual vintage. They let the fruit tell the story. Bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment. Two Telsa charging stations are also available on site. Ballycroft - Small Winemaker, Big Wines

A delightful experience. To sit with the winemaker Joe filled with passion and knowledge who sustainably creates a wonderful product is just fabulous. It is heart warming to see a small producer doing what he loves . Well worth the trip . Tim from cellar door tours introduced us to this gem of a boutique winery ,

We visited Joe for the first time on recommendations of friends and were not disappointed! It is unusual in the Barossa to have such personal service and genuine character. We’ll definitely be back. You’d be silly to miss it.

We could've spent the entire afternoon with Joe. Joe's passionate about his craft and we really enjoyed the way he shared his wine knowledge. I look forward to visiting again to restock . Joe's wines are only available from his cellar door and it's well worth the visit. Some great reds to be had and stories to be shared. Thankyou for your time Joe.

What a great time we had at Ballycroft. Just a small boutique winery that is almost hidden amongst the bigger names. Joe the owner was great. He started off by showing us through his winery and the wine making process, which was excellent as it was vintage time so there was fresh fruit beginning their life towards wine.
Then to the tasting room and a wonderful journey into Joe's world of wine and winemaking. Great explanation of each wine and all done with a fun sense of humour. The American Oak Shiraz is up there with one of the best I've had, and at a price that leaves some of the bigger names behind.
And finally Joe was really helpful in sending our wine home to Melbourne, even with wines from some other wineries to make up a dozen. He packed the wines well to avoid breakage and postage costs were very reasonable.
Thanks Joe, I've already got some friends onto your wine and I'll see you next time I'm in the Barossa.

A small vineyard offering exquisite local wines from hand-picked grapes. You can expect a great wine tasting experience run by the passionate owner of this sustainable business (30kW solar, recycled water, waste management, energy management and low-energy production). And there are 2 Tesla destination chargers to boot (3-phase CCS2)

On the last day of our trip to the Barossa, my husband and I were looking for a vineyard that was open for tasting as it was the 1st of Jan and most were shut. We found online that Ballycroft was one of the few open and made a split second decision to go. And boy, were we in for a treat.
Joe, our host was very knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humour. He kept our little 14 month toddler, engaged, offering him crackers and following him around the room, so we could enjoy our wine tasting. The whole wine tasting experience was so personalised and delightful because Joe talked us through each wine and how it was made. He is so obviously passionate about the process of wine making and it shows in his wines. I'm not a red wine fan, preferring white wines instead, but I really enjoyed his beautifully complex wines. We ended up ordering a few bottles and I know we will visit there again. A shout out to Joe's lovely wife, Susan, who's obviously working very hard behind the scenes.

Ballycroft Winery is one of my top favorite wineries to visit! This is a strong statement coming from someone that lives so far away in Texas, and has visited many wineries around the world! My wife & I have been there twice! Joe, the owner and winemaker opened up just for us this time. He is so knowledgable, friendly, and engaging with such a great personality! His wines are truly amazing as well, and are small production. I may live far away but I would visit there again!
