Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

OMG, the Burra Hetiage Trail was awesome. This is a must do if you are in the area. Be prepared for lots of walking but it's totally worth it. We learnt lots about this historic place. Everything was dog friendly too. Ladies in the Burra Visitor Info Centre were so helpful and friendly.

Burra was a very interesting and enjoyable place to visit but it wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic support of the Visitor Centre. Sue was very informative and willing to share tips, maps, brochures etc.
Well worth dropping in to ensure your visit to Burra is great.

Very helpful woman provided all the information required as we had limited time. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do the full tour where you are provided with a key to some of the sites She annotated the best things to see and a suggested route. She even provided options on dining.

Wonderful friendly greeting and incredibly helpful. Worth a stop in. I purchased the Heritage Passport key, which was a wonderful decision.

We stopped in for some maps and information about walks and the Red Banks Park. The staff member was very helpful and they even have soft toy diprotodons!

The first place to visit in Burra should be the Tourist information centre to get all the necessary information on the fabulous historical attractions to see, the best way is with a heritage passport. On the morning of our visit the staff member (I think was Heather) was so very helpful and friendly. We purchased our Burra Heritage Passport which gave us access to the many fascinating historical sites in and around Burra, as well as being given many helpful tips on how best to plan our day/opening times on the sites. The centre was full of helpful tourist brochures, local crafts, gifts and souvenirs. In a side room was a display on the making of a famous 1979 Australian film, Breaker Morant, which was filmed in the district. The building which houses the centre was built in 1890 as the office for stock agents 'Elder, Smith and Co'. It is also worth learning/asking the staff about what the Goyder Line is; fascinating.

Popped in to obtain some information about the town and area. We were assisted by (the awesome) Tammy. She was extremely pleasant and helpful and provided ALL the information and tips we needed about Burra and some really great suggestions. We spent the rest of the day & the next basically following her guidance and had a ball. The Info Centre is a must when first arriving in Burra and hopefully Tammy will be the one to assist you.

We recently spent two nights in Burra. On arrival we went straight to the information centre in the main street.
We were most impressed with the knowledge of Tammy at the office. We were able to get our key to see the sights which lasted for 48 hours so we did not have to wait till the office opened the following day. She also advised us on good places to eat and visit. The sights were very interesting and kept us moving around the town. A big thanks Tammy.

Suzi (apologies if it’s the wrong spelling) was so pleasant and informative on each of the three occasions we popped our heads into the centre during our 5 day trip to Burra. Every recommendation of the places to visit including the Bon Accord Hotel for dinner, St Just cafe for coffee, Redruth gaol, midnight oil house, passport tour to name a few were spot on! Very friendly, very informative, knowledgeable and passionate. Thank you. You’re a credit to Burra (& surrounds).
