Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On the turnoff from the Barrier Highway into the Burra Mine Open Cut Museum stands a historical stone chimney, relocated to this position stone by stone by the National Trust in 1971, its original position was on site within the cooper mine. Standing onto of the chimney is the mascot of the Burra miners, Johnny Green.

The Figure at the top of the Chimney is Johnny Green. Orginally made of wood, its original location was at the top of Roach's Pumphouse until 1855, when it was then replaced with one sheet of iron and put on top of the shears above Morphett's shaft in 1858. In 1925 fire destroyed the timbers of Morphett's Engine house and Johnny Green was found amongst the ashes, and then placed on a pole at the Mine entrance until 1967 when vandals cut him down. In 1972 a new Johnny Green was made and placed at the top of Peacock's Chimney.

Johnny is the mascot to the miners and it figures rather prominently in Burra. It's just off the side of the road with information boards... plenty of parking... so it's easy to stop and learn a bit about local history.

Johnny it appears from his history had a bit of that Australian resilience.
