Just south of Yeppoon at Cooee Bay is Wreck Point Scenic Lookout, from the covered viewing platform there were fabulous views up and down the coastline; of Yeppoon, Lammermoor Beach and Rosslyn Bay, as well as over to Great Keppel Island. From here we followed the very short 'Wreck Point Trail' down 68 steps to an outdoor wooden art installation of the 'Selina', based on the Schooner ship by the same name which came to a dramatic end in 1848 near this point, hence the name Wreck Point. Of note, there were several signboards with interesting historical information located along the path below the viewing platform worth reading.

?Well worth the walk or drive up there and a sit on the headland looking out and contemplating what others saw, found and experienced when in the same spot.

What a fantastic lookout!!! The views are breathtaking over the bay and the islands. Lots of info boards, and there’s a walk further down towards the ocean for those wanting to explore abit more.

Our AirBnB was literally 100m from this striking lookout, so we visited several times whilst out and about walking the dog. Plenty of informative material about the 62 ton transport schooner Selina, which was was found washed ashore near this point in 1848. Sensational views out from Yeppoon, round towards Great Keppel Island and then to Lammermoor Beach and Rosslyn Bay. A recently constructed clifftop winding pathway leads down to the actual Wreck sculpture beneath the Lookout. Only a small lay-by parking area, so guessing it could get busy in peak times.

This lookout is just behind our caravan park and so we thought we would take a look. The views are excellent over to the cliffs facing the beach and down onto the beach. You can also look over to the Keppel islands from here. Worth a stop.

Such a great lookout, the upgrade is stunning!
Beautiful anytime of the day and now at night with the addition of the colour changing lights! We were lucky enough to witness an incredible electric storm one evening while visiting the lookout and with the colour changing lighting made the experience even more spectacular! We Love Cooee Bay

A nice lookout, with the option to venture down towards the water. Can park right next to it so no excuse for not visiting it.

Visited on Sunday 11th October. What a great place to stop and check out the views looking towards the Keppel Islands. We spent awhile there reading about the early history of the area and taking a walk to the lower viewing platform.

Layout was informative and inviting. Provided a lot of historical information without being overwhelming. Pathway is easy but not wheelchair friendly. Wheelchair access is possible at the roadside level lookout only.
