We arrived on the island early morning and were on the second tour, so we needed to kill a couple of hours. We walked up to the main street and walked up and down it. Called into a lovely little souvenir shop that had plenty of items to choose from. Apart from the supermarket there was not a lot open. Checked out the surrounding areas for a while took some great photos of the waterfront and then it was time to catch our tour bus. The guide was pretty informative and told us heaps of information. The fort was interesting and had a lot of items to look at. The views from the top of the fort were breathtaking. We stopped at the cemetery and were able to see some interesting sites. Then back to the ferry port get some lunch (make sure you have plenty of cash) and back to Bamaga

I greatly enjoyed the Peddells Ferry ride from Seisia to Thursday Island - the ferry was very fast and spotlessly clean. I greatly appreciated the informative bus tour on the Island with Christine Peddell. Christine was informative and so easy to hear and understand - she speaks clearly with good diction and a nice, clear voice. Very well done, Christine!!!

The ferry ride was as expected. Smooth sailing and the coffees were delicious. Our tour of the island was very well presented by our guide. Had some very tasty chips at the Top Pub on town. Thought there may have been some markets for the tourists but unfortunately there were none. Great day.

Loved the ferry ride. Very efficient service. Polite and helpful staff. I would like to see a vessel information plaque somewhere on board with info on manufacturer, engines etc. Sue’s island bus tour was excellent. Well done to all

Did the bus tour. Interesting sights but the guide was not very good. Told us all the sights to see from the fort after we had left the fort. Handed the map of the island out about ten minutes before the end of the tour.

Her commentary on the cbd was confusing as she babbled on and ran it all together so it was hard to remember the important bits.

What an unexpected surprise. I did a tour with a boat group from the Trinity Bay. Thanks to Sue for her knowledge and way of presenting the information, a nice blend of chatty and formal information giving. It was like listening to a friend showing you around a place of which they are very proud. Thank you.

What an incredible day out!! A must do in your Cape York trip, stay the extra day and get out to the Torres Strait.

Ferry from Seisia is very comfortable and quick across to Thursday Island.

The tour around the island is stunning with Christine very well informed and clear to understand. The museum under Green Hill fort was amazing.

Thursday Island is an absolute treat, had a great lunch at the Grand Hotel. The views and colour of the ocean are out of this world.

9 am sharp departure from Seisia on the way to Thursday Island. Lovely morning cruising through the Isles to the Island. Boarded the bus and off we go!. Past the Cemetary where many Japanese Pearl divers are interred with traditional inscriptions, then the Islander graves with the story of the occupant's life and a display of artificial flowers(quite colourful). Then up to the Fort with spectacular views either way. the fort had a very large artillery gun aimed at protecting Aus from the Russians(Crimean war). Plus a history lesson through thetwonship.

I went on the tour on my own and it was for about 1.5 hours. The guide was very knowledgeable. It was great listening to her tell us the history of the places we stopped at and additional information of the Island. I enjoyed Green Hill and the Fort museum there. I would have like the trip to be a little longer so as to spend more time at some of the highlights. Maybe 2 to 2.5 hours long.
I highly recommend this tour. The bus is air conditioned and very comfortable. I will go again when I am back up north.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, your feedback is important to us. Hours could be spent in the Green Hill Fort Museum, however we have to limit the time due to connecting tours/ferry departures. We hope to see you on your next visit up North Essau (Thank you)
