Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My friend and I were looking for something to do today and came across the boomerang art gallery. It was about a half hour walk from our apartment. Yes, we had to ring the bell. It was answered immediately and the owner came d.own and let us in. The owner, Werner, is a very friendly, knowledgeable man. He showed us around the gallery, told us stories of the Aboriginal artists that paint for him. We spent almost 2 very enjoyable hours with him. We bought 2 small pieces of art, a beautiful cushion cover, and a book. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will recommend this gallery.

Appears to be a small gallery in the basement of someones home. Not open when we went but did give the option of ringing a door bell. Didn't really feel like a comfortable place to visit.

I don't think your review is fair seeing you didn't even bother to ring the bell to get in. You are welcome to view our collection of high quality and authentic Australian Aboriginal Art. We have a big workshop at the back where we invite Aboriginal artists to paint. We are normally open by appointment only but we give the locals and occasional visitors a chance to view. We are husband and wife team owner/operators who have been dealing with Aboriginal art since 1996. Please visit our gallery and view the paintings. We also have a website which you can visit and browse. Your negative review is the last thing we want. We worked so hard to promote Australian Aboriginal art. We don't deserve your unfair opinion. Please do not judge a book by its cover and ask you to delete your unjustified comment.

I am always daunted by having to ring the bell and wait to go into a gallery, not a problem here, the owner answered immediately and said he'd be there shortly, which he was. Lovely guy, very informative, absolutely no pressure to buy, he's happy to answer any questions, about any of the work. I did buy of course and have 2 fabulous (not expensive) paintings hanging on my wall back in the UK now and I love them

Arrived 9 min before closing time and the owner welcomed us with open arms. He's such a nice and totally down to earth guy.
He took time explaining to us the digeridoo, and art work he has. Showed us around a bit and there's no pressure at all in buying his art work.
We were impressed by the art piece and we came home with a brilliant experience and a very nice digeridoo...
Please call in to see his art collection and I'm certain you will be impressed too.

My wife, daughter and I visited Boomerang Art last Sunday and we were captivated by the artistry of our living and some sadly passed indigenous historians. Host Werner is such an interesting character, full of wonderful anecdotes from the outback which lends his art collection an undoubted authenticity. Thank you Werner for educating us and being that effective conduit enabling us to access such enchanting works of art. We shall be back.

Boomerang Art in southport on the Gold Coast offers visitors the chance to experience the art work of aboriginal artists in one easily accessible gallery. Spend an hour or two and find out all about it. Worth the visit. Very happy with my painting by Maggie Napaljarri Ross. Will be back again to purchase more...

I wanted to know anymore about the aboriginal culture and I have chosen this art gallery ! I am very happy about that because the owner of the gallery is very available for all your questions and doesn't force you to buy something. If you have not some questions, he can help you to visit the gallery and to explain a lot of things about the paintings and the aboriginal culture !

I don't regret to have chosen this place.

We did not expect to find such an amazing gallery in such an unexpected part of Southport.
They have a large collection of top name Utopian aboriginal art. They also gave some gifts, books and didgeridoos.
Werner, the owner is very knowledgeable. The only criticism, if it were possible to have one, is that in his enthusiasm he talks too much.
We will be going again. Often.
