Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Dec 2021 • Friends
I drove out to Crows Nest NP from the Sunshine Coast (2hrs 40min) to meet friends for a weekend camping adventure.
There were 7 of us at the campsite including an animated infant & we enjoyed a night of chatting, drinking & games including Finska which involves throwing a lump of wood at numbered pins!
While there we took a drive to explore a few of the sites in the area including Lake Cressbrook & the Perserverence Dam viewing platform & rest area & spent time chatting, getting to know each other (there were some new people I hadn’t met) & enjoying the views.
We even got bottles of soft drink from the local Crows Nest Soft Drinks, one of the oldest local manufacturers of soft drinks (since 1903) & drank at the campsite (the cola was great).
The campsite is peaceful & relaxing and was quiet the weekend we were there. There is an amenities block close by which has drop toilets (no flush).
The next morning we did the 1km hike through the National Park to Crows Nest Falls & naughtily went past the barrier and rock hopped down to the creek and found a place for a refreshing swim & found some even better views out over the falls (be careful as there has been a fatality at this location).
All in all this was a happy & memorable weekend away with friends

We enjoyed visiting Crows Nest Falls for a short afternoon walk. The track is well formed and it was an easy walk. The falls were a mere trickle when we visited but with a decent fall of rain they would be a spectacular look.
The park has picnic facilities and a good information board.
Recommend, if you have a spare hour or two.

Located just 5km from Crows nest, the national park is accessed by sealed road that leads to the day use area and/or camping ground.
There is plenty of parking and good facilities in the day use area.
We camped for two nights at the adjacent (but separated from) camping area, where there are 13 identified sites and an amenities block. All sites must be precooked online and only half are currently in use due to COVID requirements. All sites have a fire pit and some are provided with a picnic bench. All very pleasant.
There is one major walk in the park: about 3km rack way to and from the camping area, that follows the creek with side trips to various rock pools and waterfall locations: then a not so arduous uphill stretch taking you out to Koonit Lookout which offer some excellent views.
kookaburras around the campground are reasonably aggressive: keep an eye on your food.

Wonderful views, and at 70 and 83 years young, we did not find the climb to the top of the falls too tiring. Also little bathing spots in the creek and generally a really good place to visit. Get there early if you want to find a parking spot on a weekend. The walks are shady, but bring a bottle of water and good shoes.

Obviously there has been a draught for quite some time. However, the stream flows all the way to make up for 2 falls and in between locals and tourists come to have a splash. Camp grounds are okay, but the walk to the lookout is easy and gives spectacular views over the canyon.

Easily accessable by 2wd/city cars. Lots of parking with a few good walks. A great off track walk and rock hop too, only for experienced hikers though.
Cute camping and picnic area with drop toilets.

We have previously been here many years ago and was hoping to see it with some water running through the gorge. The main swimming hole is now barricaded and swimming not recommended . For those who like exploring some time could be spent rock hopping and boulder climbing but apart from the 2 walks there is not a lot to do for the active. It is a tidy ,maintained camping ground .The rangers try to get out there Mondays and Fridays. Generally the size of most of the numbered sites are small and you will be very close to your neighbours. There are a few tables and all sites have their own fireplace. Worth a night or 2 at the most for camping. Note there is good phone reception.

It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the falls and 30 minutes back (uphill) but is hardly worth it. There had been a lot of rain recently but the falls were disappointing. Be careful if you return by the pools loop The return track to the car park is not signposted

All of the walking trails are easy walking. Some steps down to certain locations. Beautiful views of granite and waters interactions. Water falls, and unique granite formations and water flows makes this a great place to visit. Only requires a part of your day. You can get off the main trails a bit too in some locations. There is a great day use area by the parking and also overnight camping available. Crows nest is a nice rural community you can venture into when you are done.

Plenty of parking, good facilities at the picnic area.
There wasn't much water flowing on the day we went.
But the pools were beautiful as they are always. Rock formations and water make beautiful views.
