Woman on register irritated by us trying to make a purchase.

As many other stated, the lady behind the counter has a terrible attitude and seems to see customers as something to begrudgingly tolerate. It’s really not that hard to say “That will be $10, thank you” without being rude. Really surprised by her horrible and unwarranted attitude.

Also there’s better quality postcards for same or less price at two different stores right near it.

Paradise with downside
Oct. 2019
Rainbow Beach is a paradise pieces on earth. Great beach, fantastic surf BUT all those cars on the beach! We think that needs to be regulated! It’s dangerous, annoying and bad for the environment! Hesitate with dogs but humans are allowed to be anywhere and leave the mess!

Terrible service

Called today about diving, the woman Kim had no idea about diving and was rude and gave me no idea as to why the dive center hadn’t returned my calls for 2 days. Don’t bother with them they have no “information” for an info center.

We have visited this information centre twice as tourists. The first time was to gain some information on the local area and attractions,
We stood at the so called information counter for over ten minute without even being acknowledged, whilst the two lady’s working there had a private conversation gossiping about someone.
We then interrupted them to ask a question and were treated as if we were an annoyance because we interrupted their conversation.
The second visit was to buy some thongs as we had misplaced a pair.
Once again walked in, lady at counter on computer did not lift her head.
We looked, walked out and then she asked what we wanted.with an unwelcome tone.
If this shop has been given permission to be the information centre for this town, the council should remove it from them.
They are a discgrace.
If the lady working there is the owner, she should employee someone who actually wants to be there and help tourists!

Do not go here.

Pitiful service

The old lady on the service desk must have walked into the wrong store that morning. It was supposed to be visitor information but was anything but. Rude, unhelpful and dismissive. Give the job to someone else if you don't want to provide tourists with information.

Saw firsthand how the friendly staff provide local knowledge and help in person and on the phone. Trips, tides, tips discussed and people's needs listened to.

I was killing time in town while my family was on a kayak trip, and I walked into the shop, milled around and started a conversation with Sam and Maureen the owners. They have been in Rainbow Beach for 37 years and know everything there is to know about the place. Contrary to another reviewer, both Sam and Maureen were very helpful considering I never bought anything in the shop and they gave me some good information to help me kill time over the next four hours. Ask for them when you visit, they love tourists and were a delight to chat to

Rainbow beach tourist centre has whatever you are looking for. Friendly people with great knowledge of the area, cafes, newsagents, supply shops for when you are camping on the beach. Hire vehicles if needed to explore the local areas. the list is endless almost. Depending on what you require. Highly recommend

Barb the info lady was grwT

Barb was a boss at providing us all the info we needed for our tour over to Fraser. She was fun, informative and a great agent and first contact for the town. We also loved our tour to Fraser with John the tour guide who was like Steve Irwin. He was full of info, was funny, and did a great job.

Cheers,
