We got up early to watch the sunset and it is beautiful. The sea color changes as well as the sun rises. Great to drive on the beach too.

The road to the point gives a good indication of what to expect on Fraser, once off the tar. There are good test tracks if you have not tried 4x4 before, with many a helpful hand around to enlighten your methodology.

Good spot to let your tyres down and await the barges arrival ready for Fraser Island. Sometimes soft sand which is always good to try and get the cruiser buffed in 2WD.

This area of Rainbow Beach is away from the town and very quiet. Inskip point itself is the jumping off point to catch the barge to Fraser Island. It is a popular fishing spot for whiting and flathead in winter. It is also a great...More

Camping here is by National Park permit - available online or at the Ranger Station in town. Very inexpensive. Although very limited facilities (classis "drop-dunnies") the surrounds a great. I could go on but it might just make the place more popular and thus more...More

Could have spent all day here in this area. Rainbow beach is a lovely town and the beach front is beautiful. We could have stayed forever. The beach is beautiful with lovely views and soft sand.

We stayed overnight at Rainbow Beach, but drove down to visit a friend who was camping in the Sarawak site. This must be one of the most idyllic spots to camp ! The view across to Fraser and the whole setting could not be better....More

Inskip point would have to be my most favourite of camping sites in Queensland. Nestled outside Rainbow Beach, some 3 hours north of Brisbane this beautiful peace of heaven is just what the soul needs. Multiple camping sites available catering for 4wd, cars, caravans etc......More

The Rainbow Beach and Inskip point area near Fraser Island is a beautiful laid back area of Queensland that is very popular among locals - especially when you're trying to avoid the barge costs to get to Fraser and back. Some of the best camping...More

I'm not really sure on that one ColinB, as there were hundreds of fast moving vehicles moving along the beach all day. We feared for our lives so opted to leave the area
