We hired a 4wd from Rainbow Beach 4x4 Hire for our family of 5 for, 2 days.
If you need a 4wd I highly recommend going to Rainbow Beach 4x4 .
Merve was a great contact and real local character. We had a great chat about everything from Dingos to the Newtown Jets.
He gave us lots of useful tips and advice to help us plan our trip in the short time we had.
Along with the informative videos provided as part of the booking, he helped us to have a great experience on K’gari.
The contact with the team provided us with great service and gave us all the information on driving times we needed.
The 4x4 we were provided with was clean, had raised tyres and worked perfectly on the beach and on the bumpy hard going inland tracks.
They are perfect for the conditions, on K’gari.
You can see their mechanics when you arrive constantly working on their fleet to keep them in good working condition.
The Tent we hired was easy to set up and was in perfect working order.
Rainbow beach 4x4 has quite simply a strong reputation for providing great service because they do.

We hired a 4wd from Rainbow Beach 4x4 Hire for my family of 5 for, 7 days and couldn’t have been happier.
From the first contact the team provided great service and made the process clear and easy, answering all my questions.
The 100 series Landcruiser we were provided was immaculate, had a 2inch lift, new tyres and was a perfect match for the conditions, it was clear that they take pride in fleet.
When I picked the car up, Merv who I think has been running the business for 20 years, was a great source of useful tips and advice, which along with the videos provided as part of the booking, helped me avoid any issues.
Talking to the locals of Rainbow Beach it seemed that everyone we spoke to knew Merv. It quickly became clear that he is well known and well respected and has a strong reputation for providing a great service.

If you’re heading to Fraser Island, do yourself a favour and hire a Land Cruiser from Merv at Rainbow 4x4. The cars are great and tackle anything you’ll find. You’ll get links to a couple of short videos with your booking - they’re definitely worth watching. The whole experience was hugely enjoyable and stress free. Thanks Merv.

Couldn't have been happier with this choice. I was a novice 4x4 driver. The videos provided by Merv were excellent. Then he took plenty of time when I arrived to make sure I was completely comfortable understanding everything I needed to know, including checking my tide times for me for exactly where I wanted to go, marking up the map for me, etc. I had no problems with the vehicle. In fact, when we were driving back from Double Island Point, there was one spot where we watched numerous vehicles just ahead of us getting bogged, including a ranger vehicle which got bogged twice. Then we sailed right through that place, no sweat, simply following Merv's instructions exactly. The only hint I'd like to mention to other customers is that, at the end, you have to get the vehicle cleaned at a place across the road, and there can be quite a queue, so make sure you go early to beat the rush.

Merve was great to deal with from start to finish. During the booking stage, he provided us with tide times which made for easier planning. He was patient and thorough during the vehicle pickup and even guided us through booking the necessary park passes. Drop off was a breeze. Thanks for making our trip to Fraser Island a great experience, Merve!

Couldn’t recommend it more!
Merve did a fantastic job at advising at the time of booking and was kind enough to accomodate our last minute request to postpone our car hire of one day. On the day of the drive he provided us with all the information needed and many little tips to enjoy the day. We had a lot of fun! I guess compared to Fraser Island, driving to Cooloola is easier and quicker - no barge involved. You’ll have to drive 5km on a paved road and then about 15 of mixed dirt/sand road to get to the beach. There we headed left towards the lighthouse. We had a nice swim with turtles, took the walk to the lighthouse to have lunch with an amazing view over the ocean. Was great!!

We hired a 4x4 from Rainbow beach hire and had a great Experience. The landrover was just great and build for the job. He had no problem with all the tracks. Even when is seems to look hard.
Merve was very friendly and helpfull with everything and thinking with us for the best trip for my family. Fraser was the highlight of our Australia trip.

Merve was super helpful, friendly, and explained everything to us all very well. The vehicle was clean and tidy and was reliable for our group of 6. Rainbow Beach 4 x4 are definitely very cost competitive especially when needing transport for 6. We are extremely grateful for his knowledge, practicality and advice, not to mention enjoying a bit of rugby chat before we set off!
