Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked a return Journey with Sealink online in October to Stradbroke Island. We were on holiday from New Zealand. I rang the company to confirm and they told me to call back when we knew the registration number of our rental vehicle. A couple of days before our journey I rang back and informed them of the registration of our vehicle. We arrived in plenty of time checked in and waited for the ferry.
Driving onto the ferry and parking was well organized. The journey took about 45 minutes. On arrival we just dove off no problems. On the return journey just drove on after crew checked our number plate, no problem.
The journey was smooth even though the sea was a bit choppy.
The ferry has toilets , and a nice cafe.
All the staff we dealt with were polite helpful and friendly. Very impressed with the whole experience. I would totally recommend Sealink ferries and would use them again.

Great roll-on roll-off ferry service, on time and efficient suitable for all types of vehicles. The onboard cafe has a great range of food and drinks, and offers an elevated view across the bay.

Travelled over to Straddie with our 2 year old granddaughter. I was impressed with the efficient processes for booking in and boarding. We were asked if there were any children on board before deciding where we were best placed on the ferry. Had to return earlier than we would have liked on Sunday due to later ferries being fully booked. It was expensive just for an overnight trip, but we were unable to take the passenger fast ferry as we needed to take travel cot, etc for our granddaughter.

Thank you for getting us on from the standby line. We understand that you are so busy there should be more boats going to Stradbroke Island or else they should build a bridge and get over it.

Hi , looking at camping at south currigee camp grounds, I have a 4x4 with rooftop tent. Can I drive it to the camp grounds?

Hi Fearless, as per Alan's response you need a permit to drive on the beach, however the campgrounds you are enquiring about are not on North Stradbroke Island. I think it may be located on South Stradbroke Island and we do not service that island. Thank you.

What if you miss the last ferry? Are there any other services, water taxis?
SeaLink North Stradbroke Island
North Stradbroke Island, Australia3 contributions
Hi, it depends on the day, on week days generally the last vehicle ferry is 5pm from Cleveland or 6pm from Dunwich whereas the last passenger ferry is 6.25pm from Cleveland or 6.55pm from Dunwich. On a Friday and Sundays the last vehicle ferries are later than the last passenger ferries. Our
website has timetables for both vehicle and passenger ferries so you can have a better idea or download the brochure.
Is there a vehicle barge that goes to South Stradbroke Island or only North?
If only North Stradbroke can you drive from north to south in a normal vehicle or do you need a 4wd?
How much will it cost to take a vehicle from stradbroke island south to mainland

No.
Nearest car hire for you is Capalaba.
Not sure how you will get between the ferry terminal and Capalaba either.
The two depots advertised on the web in Capalaba are:
Avis Capalaba Car Rental Avis Capalaba - 98 Redland Bay Road, Capalaba, QLD. 4157
Budget Capalaba Car Rental Budget Capalaba - 231 Old Cleveland Road, Capalaba, QLD. 4157

Thanks

Hi Leannda, the best thing to do would be to travel at high tide, as the angle of the ramp is less severe. We take low cars, coaches and caravans over to the island on a regular basis.

Hi
I have a mate who travels over and back most weekends. He tries to be on the 2pm Friday going over and returns on the 7pm Sunday night as they are usually the cheaper fares.
