Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the most amazing little museum I have seen for a while. So many wonderful displays of Redlands history including a large display on the farming history. I loved the transport area with its Cobb and Co coach, German wagons ( just what I wanted to see for my family history), timber wagons, sulkies and much more. One section has a number of shop fronts with smaller display themes including nursery, laundry, bedroom, china, military displays. Also some family displays on early history in that area. Can easily spend 2-3 hours here - there is so much to see and miss! Volunteers do an excellent job including making sure most of the exhibits are in working order. Special exhibit in the foyer also excellent and loved seeing a chapel set up from donations of previous church furniture/stained windows from heritage churches in the area. A real treasure.

Visited this museum in Cleveland. In the Cleveland show ground area. A great reminder of what our parents and grandparents used in day to day life. And yes i did use some of these myself. Take your children grandchidren and let them see how others lived and still enjoyed life without all the gadgets we think we need today.

This museum lacked a narrative. There were things in Redlands a long time ago but I'm not sure why someone thought them worthy of collection and exhibition.
There needs to be some theme. Was life harder before? Easier? What should everyone know about? Did anything of singular importance ever happen here? Anyone of importance come from here?
I was there three months ago and don't remember anything except wondering why there are mobile phones on display.

Plenty to do and see here at this fantastic regional museum. Always new displays and exhibitions on rotation with an enthusiastic professional and volunteer base taking great care of things. Recently extended and lots more to see if you haven't been for a while. Entry fees are $5 Adults, $4 concession, $1 children or $10 for a family pass. Great place to take visiting relatives/ friends or school children on holidays (there is a toy museum where they can get hands on).

What a pleasant surprise this museum is, especially when on vacation on a wet Queensland day. Looked up tripadvisor for things to do and a museum packed with local history and artefacts fitted the bill. The volunteer staff were very helpful and friendly, and provided a paper plan of the halls and exhibits. It clearly shows the development of Cleveland and the Moreton Bay Area over the years, particularly the transition from farming to urban and bayside housing.
Exhibits include old farming machinery, tractors, cars and cycles. Photographs and exhibits of old Cleveland, shops and businesses, military history and local hero’s. Great stories abound from a complete family history/ profile to bravery awards and citations.
It was interesting from a Birmingham uk perspective to see how many items were manufactured in the city, from Morris cars, BSA bicycles and the original crystal glass work from the original Cleveland lighthouse.
Excellent time spent and will return to delve into more detail. Small entrance fee worth every cent.

I love the Redland Museum. I discover new treasures every time I visit. There are loads of farming items on display as well as wagons, carts, cars, a steam engine, railway carriage, school room display, radios, photographics, fine china, military uniforms & medals, textiles, and even a working blacksmith shop where you might be lucky enough to watch blacksmiths at work. Lots more too! I never seem to have enough time here, so allow more time than you think you'll need and you'll enjoy your visit.

One of the best metropolitan museums you will ever see. The building is large, light and airy and easy to get around. All displays are thoughtfully arranged and presented. Most are representative of the history of the Redlands district and the adjacent islands. The museum conducts informative lectures about Australian history with light refreshments served afterwards. Special exhibitions of crafts, photographs, and historical themes are regularly displayed. Staff are friendly and helpful. Enjoy an hour or a full day at this wonderful museum.

Thank you for your review. Our museum is exactly as you described it and we pride ourselves on having information and interesting displays. It would not be as it is though, without the support of our wonderful volunteers - they are what make the museum so special.

Hi,
Just wanting to know if there is a charge to enter this place?
Thanks 😀
Written 31 March 2018
There is a small charge or you can have yearly membership and visit often. They are also interested in people being volunteers on a regular or occasional basis and that will give you the opportunity to be involved in a very diverse range of activities. Ring them - they are so friendly and will answer any questions you have.

Hi, I have visited the Redlands Museum sometime ago and found it a very interesting and informative glimpse
into life in the Redland Bay area in earlier times. As 2015 is the centenary of Gallipoli and we are commemorating
this anniversary of The Great War, do you have a display regarding this time in history and those soldiers who
came from the Redland Bay area?
