We didn’t even know there was a distillery in Agnes Waters but driving past we saw a sign and decided to stop in and glad we did It is off the main streets and worth the visit John was friendly and was great to hear about his distillery and his process Great to sample and know local produce is used and all distilled on site Definitely drop in

The best way to enjoy the hidden power of fresh fruits. The distillery offers four full flavoured blends. John, the owner, happily guides you through each of his special elixirs as he openly chats about his distilling history which started in the depths of Tasmania a number of decades ago. It was good to hear how he works his magic to bring out the best of his unique liqueurs. There is also a small (very tidy) nursery attached to the tasting room that is full of small potted plants that are just waiting to go home with you. You are destined to take something very special away with you when you leave.

We came across 1770 Distillery on our way to the Paper Back Forest and what an amazing find. John was very welcoming, passionate and full of knowledge. We had a great time and are very happy that we can buy online for when we run out :-)

We stopped by the 1770 Distillery and we’re not disappointed. John is very passionate about his liquors and took us through the tasting process. We ended up with a bottle of the Spiced Orange and the Strawberry. Worth a visit

John greeted us with a welcoming smile and provided a wealth of information. We learnt about the distillery process for the fruit liqueurs and had a tasting of each of the four products. John planted the idea- strawberry splash liqueur over ice cream! He wrapped up our visit with some local knowledge on the best fishing spots. 100% recommend popping in to sample and purchase this finely crafted local product.
