Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice little two hour tour includes a short “bush walk” on a trail and some scenic views. Guide can drop you off in the little town and you can walk back to your ship. Long walk if you are a senior. Guide will also drop you off at your ship if you prefer.

Great time with Jess and her in-river superb people. Kept us afloat, bird aware, oyster savvy and safely ashore at the end of a perfect morning. If you like a quiet experience in nature with nice people, this is for you. Thanks Jess & team.

Eden, lives up to it's name. Beautiful, quiet, and pristine. We had two little a time to explore further than 2 hours, but what we had seen was leaving us with the want to see more. Bonnie, our guide was professional, informative, and lovely too. Thank you!

This tour felt like being with friends on an adventure to discover the Sapphire Coast. Our friend… I mean, guides, Jess and Nathan, were fantastic. Personal, attentive and incredibly knowledgeable of the land and the creatures who inhabit it. I leave feeling closer to this place thanks to them.

We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide, Steve, was awesome and you could tell he really enjoyed guiding. We were in a small group and visited several areas of the National Park outside of Eden, as well as some beautiful beaches. This was a fantastic way to explore this area. I highly recommend this company!

Might have been a good hiking tour, but that is not how it was advertised — “ages 3 to 100.” We sat in a parked van the duration unable to maneuver steep mountainous terrain.

We've never had a Kayak experience prior to this. I purchased this tour before we left for our 12 day NCL cruise in NZ/AU. I bought it directly from the Navigate Expeditions website not on Trip Advisor. Buying this direct from the company and not booking a similar excursion offered by the cruise line was about half the price. I also added their round-trip pick up/drop off from the ship dock about 20 min from the river. Finding them was easy on the pier. Clean mini-van that seated all 6 of our family plus another couple from the ship.

We were an eclectic family group my husband 73, I'm 65, son and daughter in law 40 and two granddaughters 11 & 14. They had all our kayaks ready when we arrived along with two knowledgeable guides Laurence & Nathan. Each person had a single kayak and a double for my husband and I (much appreciated at our age). After a short tutorial and placing all our items in the dry-bags they supplied, we put on our inflatable safety devices and we were off. It was a cool and overcast day which worked out perfectly. Bring a water or drink the Kayak has holders for bottles. The river itself is lovely and peaceful. We were all surprised at how many oyster beds there were along the river. We saw eagle nests and were told the history of the indigenous people and how they used this river and the natural oysters beds in their day to day lives. Laurence and Nathan were very experienced and knowledgeable of both the area and the culture.

We reached the turn around point, a quiet beach just about at the ocean. There we had some of the most wonderful freshly made fudge ever. When you book your tour you choose your drink preference, tea, pressed coffee or orange juice. Laurence spread out our picnic, my tea was very hot and fresh and the family enjoyed their fresh pressed coffee and OJ. On our way back the tide was going against us and my youngest granddaughter (11) was fading and falling behind. Nathan put a tow line on her kayak and the other end around himself and gave her a tow assist all the way back so that she didn't have to struggle to keep up. It was a great adventure for the entire family, even my husband who’s basically a “Cat” when it comes to water enjoyed the day.

The ride back was pleasant and our driver Kerrie had offered to drop us in town if we wanted to shop and walk back to the ship. We were all quite satisfied with the days events and passed on the town although Eden looks like a lovely and quaint spot to get lunch and do some shopping. Fresh, local oysters abound in this town if you're so inclined. When we returned to the dock, Jess the owner of Navigate Expeditions met us and her other tours that were out for the day. She seemed genuinely concerned to learn if we all liked the excursion and if there was anything they could do to improve it. Great customer service and personal attention to detail. This was a wonderful family excursion and the favorable USD to AUD exchange made it even better. Be sure to buy it directly from Navigate Expeditions Website and you will be charged in AUD. That saved us a lot with six people. If you buy it from one of the online trip sites (Google, Trip Advisor, Expedia, etc) you will be charged in US dollars and you lose on the conversion. Don't hesitate to take this excursion, it was a great family day. They also have regular sightseeing excursions that other passenger off our ship had booked, but I think this one was the best.

Thank you immensely for your detailed and heartwarming review! We're delighted to hear that your first kayaking experience with us on the Pambula River was such a memorable one for your entire family. It's wonderful to know that Laurence, Nathan, and Kerrie provided you with exceptional service and that you enjoyed the insights into the local culture and wildlife. Your appreciation for the efforts of our team, especially Nathan's kind assistance to your granddaughter, means a lot to us. We're also glad that booking directly through our website offered you value and convenience, and it's great to hear that Jess's personal touch added to your experience. Your feedback is invaluable as we continuously strive to improve and offer the best experiences to our guests. We're thrilled that you consider the day well spent and hope to welcome you and your family back for another adventure. Your recommendation is the highest compliment we could receive, and we're grateful for your support. Safe travels and warm wishes from the entire Navigate Expeditions team!
