A fairly steep climb. I did it only once from the parking lot. Easier but still a decent climb to the top.

Sassafras Mountain is actually in South Carolina and is the highest point in the state. This is one of my absolute favorite bicycle rides and it is a big climb! The view from the top of the mountain is amazing!

The road to this high point is a very beautiful drive. There is a nice parking lot and lookout platform near the top, with a short trail to the summit. The views from the top are outstanding with views of 4 states.
