If you get carsick easily, you might want to take some ginger before. It helps. The road is exactly what everyone says: curvy. CRAZY curvy. But it was so beautiful. We enjoyed the picnic area just beyond the Fontana Dam. It was also interesting. The...More

I thought this was a nice drive and I didn’t find it all that difficult. I wasn’t trying to set a speed record or anything either, maybe that’s why I didn’t find it to be all that. There are more winding roads around the Smoky...More

Been here several times and the area has some of the best roads in the US. Take your time and don't ride/drive beyond your ability. Be sure to check out the other roads in the area as they are a blast to ride as well.

I've done this over a dozen times and it's worth the 1400-mile round trip to get to it. During the fall season, temperatures are moderate, the leaves may be changing, and the natives are friendly, but the main reason for challenging the Dragon is just...More

Some of the curves are complete switchbacks and when it says to go 15 or 30 in certain areas, you best. Plenty have wrecked on this road and quite a few have died. Police presence was noted on more than a few occasions and tickets...More

It’s an eleven miles ride with 318 curves, max allowed speed is 35 mph I believe. I have been there on a weekend and the dragon was very busy. It took me ~20 minutes. It is very depending on the traffic
