We stopped at Sliding Rock in October and were unable to slide down the rock, as there was no lifeguard but it sure looked fun! Six of us were in the car with two America the Beautiful passes but we were still required to pay...More

We had a great time camping in the Pisgah National Park and my son was the only one brave enough to do sliding rock on this cold day. He said it was refreshing and actually better than doing it on a hot day.

We went in October and the park was closed for sliding down the falls. There was no admissions fee during this time. There is a $3 fee when the slide rock is open and there is a lifeguard on duty. We cannot wait to return...More

The water falls cascades over a huge mountain slope which doubles as slide. Looks a bit iffy on safety side so take care. The landing though looks deep enough it looks like a good experience In summer. Would just rather watch in fall season. Good...More

This is something you must do! It was a blast to slide down the sliding rock. The water is cold, but it is worth it.

This is a place teenagers might like the best! The lines are long sometimes in the summer. Groups of teens are often arriving in buses with groups. A lifeguard is usually on duty to watch over the sliders. One slides down the slick rock and...More

If you’re willing to get chilly, this natural water slide is a blast! A great refresher between all the hiking in the area.

I'm a little old to go down a giant slick rock in freezing cold water(the water is cold anytime of year you go). But we took a lot of young adults and teenagers up there and they had a ball. They want to go every...More

My husband and I went here in September. There was a lot of people on the two lane road but we were able to find a spot to pull off and watch the crowd slide off the rock. When I was younger we would come...More

I agree with all of the above answers. There will be no lifeguard on duty. Be warned, the water you are dumped into was literally breath-taking for the majority of visitors when we went in July. Life vest strongly advised if... More

Dogs are allowed in the areas surrounding the sliding rock. I stayed with my daughter's dog while he family did the sliding. I don't think that dogs are allowed in the water though.
