We stopped by on our way home after a week in the mountains. The trip through the blue ridge parkway and the other falls was worth the pit stop alone. The slide is easy to find and well marked. There are places to change your...More

This place is great..everyone should do it at least once! The water is cold but so much fun in the summer! Recommend getting there early as it fills up fast but the wait line isn't long. Life guards on duty! Go to the left side...More

Fairly crowded, even mid-week. Get there earlier in the day. It's less a slip and slide than the pictures would have you believe, you actually don't go down the slide all that fast. But when you get to the bottom, you have a new appreciation...More

This place is a lot of fun. We had a short wait to get in the parking lot, and the line to slide moved very quickly. The lifeguards were friendly and very observant. Be aware that the water at the bottom is deep and VERY...More

We stop at Sliding Rocks every year on the way back from vacation. The water wasn't as cold this year for some reason. Lifeguards are on duty until 6pm and it's $3 per person to get in. After 6pm you can still go down but...More

We went on a Friday morning, the crowd wasn't large and we found parking in the closest lot. I made the mistake of wearing denim jeans, which create friction and slows down your sliding speed. Regular swim trunks work well and will not bunch up...More

Loved sliding rock. Wait can be long and parking can be a challenge but so much fun at $3 per person. Kids went 5 times each. Super fun just to watch others. Go, go, go.

My family has been coming here for generations. It’s a thrilling slide down and be prepared to be a bit shocked by the cold water you land in...but you quickly get over the shock and warm up and continue to slide down again. The ride...More

We rolled through around 2pm and there was literally no parking anywhere. Beware that if you park a ways from the trailhead, then you are walking into traffic as there are no real foot paths along the roadway.

Most people leave their belongings with those that aren't sliding. You can carry them with you on a wrist band or something of that nature. It's a natural slide, there are 2 observation decks. One above the slide and another... More
