Free public garden to enjoy as a different diversion in Pinehurst. Pleasant trails and staff and some lovely seasonal blooms in interestingly designed garden spaces.

Thought that I would try to squeeze in some sightseeing and the birder in me thought this would offer an opportunity to both see flowers and birds. The gardens were larger than I expected with a larger variety in the kinds of vegetation that was available for viewing. I was surprised by the variety and the size.

It is the largest holly collection east of the Mississippi. Beautiful hillside stream & pond too. The gardens are maintained by the students in the Landscape Gardening program of the college and they do an amazing job!... More
