A lot are saying it’s an easy hike and a gradual grade but there are parts that are very rocky and need care in traversing. Once at the falls, there’s not a lot of room to maneuver, especially if it’s busy, but it’s an absolutely...More

About a 2 mile round trip, and an easy walk to a beautiful waterfall along the river, with lots of mini waterfalls along the way. A bridge or two along the path and the trail is long and wide. Perfect place for a stroll and...More

A reasonable hike for anyone able-bodies. Those with difficulty walking or requiring assistive devices should not do this hike. Surprisingly good catch and release wild trout throughout. Really enjoyed the hike, the view, and the fishing.

As we are staying in Chesire, we saw that Catawba Falls was only a couple of I-40 exits away and we decided to drive up and give it a go. Getting there off I-40 is a little funky, you have to pay immediate attention to...More

The trail to Catawba Falls is an easy climb with a slight grade so it’s suitable for almost anyone. You’re rewarded with a great view of the Falls, but don’t expect anything spectacular :)

We stopped on our way from Asheville to Charlotte and it made for a perfect morning break. The hike to the falls is well marked and takes about 45 minutes each way. The falls are tall and multi-tiered, well worth the hike.

This is not a complicated or difficult trail. It's only about 2 miles total in and out and you're mostly walking on a forestry road. Good hike though because you're walking along a mountain stream almost the whole time. By the time you get to...More

Rode up to Catawba falls, it was a nice place the walk was little steep in places and made it little hard on me since I had back surgery. There was a lot of places where you can get to the water. We loved the...More

It’s a relatively simple hike with a well kept trail that leads to some beautiful waterfalls. I recommend shoes that can get wet, because you do cross through the creek at one point. I was glad I’d brought trekking poles because to get up to...More

Excuse me, not swim swim, but you can play in some of the water areas. I plan to get in water....even if it's just sitting or my legs.

Yes, there is a parking lot and directional signage and info about the trail (and bathrooms). Dogs are allowed on a leash and it is easy enough for a dog to walk it.
