Walking downtown Mt. Airy was casual and fun. The shops are so close together! We plan on bringing the rest of the family back.

Most all stores were open with plenty of parking, merchandise and the most friendly people. So much is captured in an old fashioned good downtown site. Just so nice to feel so good about traditional priorities

Even in the rain the locals are friendly, friendly, friendly. While I was there for a fall festival I have no doubt they'll treat you just the same. Take the Patrol Car tour ride through town and ask for Larry. Check out the Whiskey Tasting...More

The downtown area is quaint and beautiful. Many locations have not changed through the years. This town is a great tribute to the Andy Griffith Show.
