Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ellen and I love this place. The paved walkway along the river allows us to power walk 4 miles each day in peace and beauty 12 months of the year. In the winter, there are days we have to wear a winter coat, but most of the time a lighter jacket suffices. The river rises and falls with the Damn opening creating a new setting each trip. We have run/walked for 50 years and can’t think of a place in the U.S. better than this greenway to walk.

We went on a perfect day - 72 degrees with low humidity, and tennis shoes were sufficient for the trail. There were streams we had to cross using rocks, but we made it safely with a one-year-old in a front pack and a two-year-old in a backpack. We had to stop before we made it too far up because of a Boulder field, but we all enjoyed our hike.

This Greenway extends for around 3-4 miles along the Catawba river. It's nice and flat and not at all strenuous! It runs through a park and there are plenty of seats an overlooks along the route. Its a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Beautiful well maintained place to walk, jog, run or picnic. The paved trail winds along beside the Catawba river in Morganton.

Recently introduced ourselves and our grandkids to the Greenway. Great for strolls, jogs, bike rides or just sitting along the path or river for peace and quiet while still close to civilization.

This is a nice place to walk along side a river with plenty of natural shade. It isn't very long but there is talk about making it longer and connecting it to downtown Morganton. That part probably won't be as nice but still a sheltered and safe-from-traffic place to walk.

The Catawba River Greenway is a gem. It is well taken care of and really pleasant for walking, jogging or biking. There is even the possibility to camp. Very relaxing and very beautiful.

Shaded and peaceful, this greenway is an excellent place for runners, walkers or bikers. You may even see the occasional roller blader!!

I've walked and biked along the Catawba River Greenway many times. It's a fairly level paved path running alongside the Catawba River for at least 9 miles in a wooded area close to town. A real gem for nature lovers and enjoyable during any season.

There are a few places to access the trail. The two most popular places are... River Village and Judges Riverside Restaurant.
The River Village access is basically in between the whole trail. You can go left or right. There are a few shops there and a Restaurant. The restaurant is called "Friday Friends" and I would use there address to get there... 315 Sanford Dr, Morganton, NC 28655.
It's a little shopping center and you can park in the middle of the parking lot or go to the right.
The Judges Riverside Restaurant is at one of the far ends of trail. You can start there and walk, bike, etc to the end of the trail and back. There address is .....128 Greenlee Ford Rd, Morganton, NC 28655
You will pass an Ingles Supermarket on the right and the road is after the Ingles Supermarket. There is a Soccer field on the right going down the road. The restaurant is on the left at the end of the road,Don't go left, you will be in the restaurant parking lot. Go straight and you will find another parking lot that accesses the Trail.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
