Half Day Trips enjoy 5 miles, with class II-III rapids. Full Day Trips add 3 more miles, a delicious deli-style lunch served riverside, and a class IV rapid. Minimum age for whitewater trips is 8. Float Trips are offered for families with kids as young as 4 and for those looking for a scenic float trip through the beautiful Southern Appalachian Mountains. Awesome folks run this business. from the initial greeting to the pre-trip briefing. Safety is primary and fun is mandatory. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the full day trip!

I would call the outfitter and ask. I will say, please note that in whitewater rafting there is some physicality involved. You are expected to paddle, not just ride. Keep that in mind. The guides at Blue Heron are great... More

We used Blue Heron Outfitters on The French Broad, They put in at a common picnic area local access, and take out at the Old Historical House on the Hill.
