My son-in-law, grandson and I hiked up Waterrock Knob and followed the one mile plus trail to the site of a plane crash on the side of this mountain. This trail is rocky, narrow and strenuous and small children are not encouraged to hike this...More

Its a little bit of a hike to take in the full panoramic view, but well worth it. there are good viewing spots in the parking lot area, on either side, if your not up to a hike. peaceful, and breathtaking..serenity!

Beautiful views abound along the BRP and this is one of them. So much to see and do. Lots of views and hikes. Stop often.

We walked the .6 mile to the observation place. Do not stop at the pedestrian platform, but continue the next .4 mile to the top. It is very steep the climb but once there is worth the effort. The view of the surrounding mountains is...More

With views several different directions, all of the way to the Smokey Mountains this place is hard to beat. In addition, the ranger that staffs this location (we have been here several times) is friendly and helpful. The center is stocked with useful, high quality...More

The views from the parking lot alone are incredible but the hike to the top is more than worth it. You can continue on on a side trail to discover a crashed plane about 1.2 miles more if you follow the yellow blazes, near browning...More

I had read about Waterrock Knob and many favorable remarks so was anxious to see it for myself. Not disappointed in any way...a great place to stop for a great view, short walk and nice gift shop. Restrooms are also available (outside of the shop).

We enjoyed the hike with lovely views along the hike and at the top. The trail is nicely maintained so it's fairly straight forward to hike up to the top.

This time of the year I personally would not walk from the summit to the parking lot after dark. There are lots of bears around. The sunset from the west side of the parking lot is awesome!

Absolutely. As with most public areas it must be on a leash and please pick up after your dog. I hope you enjoy your trip.
