Waterrock Knob is one of the most accessible views on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The parking lot alone has breath taking views. Plenty of room to picnic, see the visitor center or just relax. The hike itself is about 1/2 mile one way and is...More

I visited Waterrock Knob with my family on Dec 30th, 2017. I made the hike all the way to the top and was not disappointed! The first half of the hike was about .2miles and fairly easy. The trail is mostly paved. There is a...More

Waterrock Knob is one of the most beautiful views in WNC AND, you don’t have to hike or climb miles of mountains to get the best view. You drive to the parking lot and hop out - that’s it! Some of the best times to...More

Unexpectedly hiked to the top of Waterrock Knob in cowboy boots, but the pain in our feet was well worth it! It was a long hike uphill (nearly 2/3 of a mile) and as tired as we were, we'd do it again. The view was...More

From every direction at this stop on the Blue Ridge, you can see for miles and miles. The trail to the top is a little rough, but it well worth the climb.

I've hiked Waterrock Knob with my in-laws and my grandchildren and they made it to the top. There is a stopping point partway up with an area to rest and look out over the mountains. The last part of the hike narrows to a rocky...More

Our favorite place to watch the sunset. There are a couple of picnic tables, a large parking lot and a 360* view. At 5,800 feet the unobstructed views are spectacular.

The main level of the parking lot is very accessible, as are the bathrooms and welcome center. The trail is a moderate hike, but the view just from the parking lot is worth a stop.
