We spent a long weekend in Asheville and took a different route home so we could stop by Lake Lure. All we knew about the area was that a scene from Dirty Dancing was filmed there. We stopped at the Welcome Center to ask what...More

Lake Lure is a wonderful place for local North and South Carolinians to spend a weekend or a warm summer day in the sun. People come for the fame, but the locals embrace it.

When visiting the area, make sure to stop in at the Welcome Center. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they have a wide range of information available regarding the area. The center is clean and modern and well worth a stop. Highly recommend.

Spent a relaxing family weekend on Lake Lure celebrating my wife's birthday. Rented a lakefront house through Airbnb. Also rented a pontoon from Adventure to tour the lake. Both were great ways to enjoy the scenery. A beautiful & unique get away.
