This museum is the worst! It shows a lack of consideration for the Native and Afro people who originally occupied the area that fought hard and had no choice but to survive injustice everyday until it became illegal in soft terms. My whole group was...More

Lots of great history about the area that we did not know about. 10 minute movie available. Tour doesn't take long. $5 admission.

This place is a first class, well designed museum to the Confederate ironclads and their role in the Civil War. The staff was friendly and helpful. We practically had the place to ourselves late on a Friday afternoon. More people should know about this gem.

The remains of a civil war ironclad warship. Very informative and interesting look at the technology developed 150 years ago.

Enjoyed learning a piece of history that isn't covered in the textbooks we used way back when. Great visit.

The last time I visited the Neuse was 8th grade, so before the move to the indoor facility. The hull is basically the same as what I remembered from that visit, but the interpretation is better (albeit not amazing). The exhibits on the ship are...More

I was totally unprepared for how well-done this museum is. The CSS Neuse is much larger than I expected. I expected a replica, but it's the real thing. The displays around the ship are first rate. I'm not a super history-buff, but I found the...More

Didn’t expect the feel of a big city museum in a small town, but this one is very well done. The movie helped explain the history of the area as well as the boat.
