Overview
More
Welcome to Midnight Magdalena Vineyards where we are “Raising Authentic Wines.” We are a family owned and operated vineyard located on over 50 acres in the Swan Creek AVA. The long days of sunshine and unique micro-climate of our vineyard provide an excellent setting to produce the quality grapes for our authentic wines. In April 2013, we planted our first vineyard blocks of Merlot, Riesling, Traminette and Corot Noir (the first vines planted in North Carolina) on about 6 acres. We had our first harvest in 2015, producing about 670 cases of wine. Our focus is on dry wines, and current offerings include a Dry Riesling, Traminette, 2 dry rose' wines, Merlot, and our Corot Noir. Our Tasting House opened in October 2016, and in April 2018 we planted another two varietals in the field in front of the Tasting House - Tempranillo and Moschofilero. Wines from these new vines should be available in 2021.

Thank you! It's always fun when we have the time to talk with our guests and share what we do here. It still amazes me how much actually goes into producing a bottle of wine. Remember that we should have our newest wine, Corot Noir,...More

The best part of visiting this winery is that your tasting is conducted by the owners. They obviously know their product well but offer insights into different wines depending on which owner is doing the tasting because they each concentrate on particular wines. They have...More

What this winery has done with such young vines is nothing short of astounding. Right now their wines are better across the board than most wineries in North Carolina. Their wines are all dry, which is fine for me, and they only have 7 available,...More

On a tour of the Yadkin valley, we stopped into this newer winery. They focus on dryer wines and we enjoyed them. The owners were very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely worth checking out!

Thanks! The Swan Creek AVA and the Yadkin Valley AVA are two of the best locations in North Carolina to find dry wines. We're glad that you enjoyed your experience with us, and hope to see you again. Cheers!
